Stephen Curry being injured again this season looks to be bad news for Golden State Warriors fans. Despite being defending champions, GSW is struggling to remain competitive in the Western Conference this season. With more than half the season completed, they hold a record of 27 wins and 26 losses.

As fans will remember, Curry already missed some time and was sidelined due to a shoulder injury. He returned and certainly seemed to be in good form. However, he has now been injured again and might miss a substantial amount of time yet again for his team. Let us take a look at what happened to the Golden State Warriors star and when he is expected back on the court.
What injury does Stephen Curry have?
Curry and the Warriors were facing the Dallas Mavericks. Despite Luka Doncic not playing in this game, the Mavs were putting up a fight and keeping pace with Golden State. With around 2 minutes to go in the second quarter, McKinley Wright IV drove the ball aggressively to the rim when being guarded by Steph.
As a result, their knees made contact at high speed and Curry was instantly hobbled by the impact on his knee. He sat out the rest of the game after having scored 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists in just 26 minutes of playing time.

Thankfully, his efforts were not completely in vain as GSW ended up winning that game with a final score of 119-113. Be that as it may, losing Curry will undoubtedly impact the Warriors’ chances of staying in contention for a spot this NBA postseason.
According to NBA Insider Shams Charania, Stephen Curry is expected to miss multiple weeks due to this knee injury. That will also mean his status for the NBA All-Star game on 19th February is now questionable and he might not participate in the event.

Thankfully for GSW fans, their schedule doesn’t look all that bad for the immediate future. That means they could still get some wins, even with their veteran leader sidelined. The Warriors will be facing the Oklahoma City Thunder, Portland Trail Blazers, and Washington Wizards for their next few games.
Moreover, they will also be playing the Los Angeles Lakers twice. Once on Feb 12 and again on Feb 24. All of these are teams that are currently struggling and the Warriors can certainly get wins over them, even without Steph. In any case, we wish him a quick rehabilitation and a return to court.
