Tee Morant has spoken out on the issues surrounding his son Ja Morant. As NBA fans will certainly know, the Memphis Grizzlies star has been scrutinized for his behavior after news broke out that he assaulted a 17-year-old boy and even allegedly flashed a gun at the scene.
We soon found out that Tee played a role in helping the situation cool down. When he saw his son in the midst of the fight, he demanded that he enter the house in an attempt to end the scene being caused. He recently sent out a statement on the whole issue. Considering that it has fans reacting to it quite strongly, let us take a deeper look at what Tee had to say.
Fans call out Tee Morant for defending his son Ja Morant
Although Tee intervened in time, fans are still blaming him for the entire situation. After all, he is Ja’s father and basketball mentor. Therefore, Tee would undoubtedly know and be able to advise Ja best. Moreover, it is his responsibility to do so. He must have certainly felt embarrassed by all the undue attention that these events brought to his family from the media. As a result, he sent out a statement-making his perspective clear.

Fans can tell that although Tee lightly called out his own son and admitted that this brought him embarrassment, he still loves Ja to death and doesn’t want to make excuses for his actions. Tee also questioned whether the people calling out Morant were all that perfect in the first place. He concluded that this is happening to Ja simply because he is always in the spotlight and that he will still return bigger.
A lot of people admired this take and made that clear when they read Tee’s statement. Be that as it may, even more, were dissatisfied with it and didn’t think it was apologetic enough. Instead, it sounded quite defensive and Tee appeared to be trying to justify what Ja was doing. Although he specifically claimed he was not doing that.

In any case, fans seem to think he is part of the problem and not the solution, “I think the father is part of the problem.” and “The dad needs to look in the mirror too. He is part of the problem” are some of the comments made by fans who feel that Tee should be held responsible.

The dad needs to look in the mirror too. He is part of the problem.

Perhaps if Tee Morant truly wants to do the right thing, he will reprimand Ja behind closed doors. As opposed to making public statements on social media defending his son.
