Kyrie Irving and his team, the Brooklyn Nets have reached a conclusion regarding his future there. He has agreed to opt into his 36 million dollar contract for this year. There were several speculations on whether Kyrie would follow through with this. However, his tweets before actually deciding to opt-in show that he had already made up his mind.
The Nets were unwilling to offer him multiple years with guaranteed money due to his “unreliability“. Be that as it may, Irving felt he is worth a maximum offer and has escalated tensions with the Nets front office. Finally, he has decided to let this year play out and then decide what his future with the organization will be.
Kyrie Irving already indicated that he will stay with Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets
Irving is one of the most skilled players in the NBA. His ball-handling skills along with his finishing ability seem otherwordly. He has been averaging 27.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 5.8 assists. However, it seems that for every bit he is talented and skilled, he is equally mysterious and excentric. This is especially in the context of his approach to dealing with issues outside the NBA.
Kyrie has not seen much success in the NBA playoffs after leaving LeBron James in 2017. Therefore, a narrative that he is a toxic player in the locker room was born. Moreover, that he is simply selfish, was soon established by the NBA media. He refused to get the compulsory vaccine during the apex of the pandemic. As a result, he was unable to play with his team for many games throughout the season.
It is not just the issue of the vaccine for the Nets. Irving has always had some reason to miss almost half the season every year he has been with Brooklyn so far. He is also a social thinker and has a revolutionary mindset. Therefore, when issues happen in society or in his personal life, he chooses to ignore basketball and focus on them.
Since Irving considers himself an intellectual and a deep thinker, his tweets reflect the same. Therefore, it is difficult to say for certain what he means through this tweet in particular.
Find Your Tribe.
It’s a war outside.
Do not sugarcoat WTF is going on.
Speak on everything you’re seeing and whenever you’re ready to unplug….👋🏾👋🏾The TRUTH vs The LIE

Considering Irving uses terms like “tribe” and “war“, it is easy to say he is talking about loyalty and the conflict he is facing with the Nets. Be that as it may, he is indicating that he has already found his tribe and that the world is a warzone. This can translate to Irving indicating that he feels safe with KD and the Nets as opposed to being a free agent. However, since he didn’t actually say it, we were forced to assume that this is how he feels. It only made sense a few days later when the official news came regarding him staying with the Nets and deciding not to explore free agency this season.
