Fans are not completely believing the latest statements made by Darvin Ham regarding LeBron James‘ health for the upcoming NBA season. As many of us should know by now, Darvin Ham is the head coach for the Los Angeles Lakers and managed to help the squad make it to the Western Conference Finals during his first year of coaching.
Of course, it wouldn’t be fair to give him all of the credit for the Lakers’ accomplishments last season. After all, LeBron James played at an exceptional level for an athlete in Year 21 to carry his team as far as it went. However, they ended up getting swept by the Denver Nuggets and lost in 4 games.
Although LeBron is well known for the incredible durability and longevity that he has displayed throughout his NBA career, the injuries have been stacking up over the past few years. Despite the fact that Ham knows this, he made a statement that has fans reacting wildly. That said, let us take a better look at what he had to say and find out more.
Darvin Ham claims that LeBron James is looking like a younger version of himself
There is no denying that LeBron James has played a huge role in the success that the Lakers have seen in recent times. After all, he helped the team win the 2020 NBA title during his first year together with Anthony Davis. However, the postseason success of the Lakers has failed since then and a lot of experts cite King James’ injuries as the cause.
During last season, LeBron suffered a foot injury and played in only 55 games. After losing to the Nuggets, he even briefly contemplated retirement. Nonetheless, a lot of time has passed since then and Darvin Ham believes that LeBron is now 100% healthy and looking like he did in Year 2 or Year 3.

While it is nice to hear that James looks healthy and back to normal, fans instantly called out Ham for making such tall statements and even potentially jinxing LeBron’s health for next season, “They say this every year…”

In fact, the majority of fans merely accused Ham of sucking up to LeBron and voiced their opinion that his staying healthy throughout next season is very unlikely. Now that the 2023-2024 NBA season is only a few weeks away, we look forward to seeing what shape LeBron is in to start the season.
