Ja Morant has been the talk of the town in recent times and the NBA world must be aware of the reason. For some context, the Memphis Grizzlies superstar was recently accused of threatening a 17-year-old boy with a gun at his home. It came when a fight between the two went wrong after a pick-up basketball game. However, The Washington Post‘s Candance Buckner later clarified:
“I deleted a previous tweet that incorrectly stated Morant *pointed* a gun at the 17-year-old boy. The actual alleged version of events is in the story: the boy told detectives Morant had a gun visible in his waistband and placed his hand on the weapon.”
Ja Morant was accused of punching a 17-year-old boy 12-13 times and flashing a gun at him during a pickup basketball game last summer, according to a police report obtained by @mollyhc

However, this didn’t stop the frenzy that the news had caused. Many started speculating that Ja Morant had been arrested and even suspended indefinitely by the NBA.
Will Ja Morant be arrested and suspended from the NBA?
The clip turned out to be fake. NBA commissioner Adam Silver has not commented on the controversy as of now but it looks like fans are demanding his involvement once again. Recently, the young player was spotted with a gun in an Instagram live.

This didn’t go down too well, mainly because of how the recent controversy is still talked about by the world. Many took to social media to express their disappointment with the player. A fan even tweeted, “This dude is dying to ruin his career.”

While many have slammed Ja’s activity on Instagram, some fans question the backlash as well. A fan pointed out that it is not illegal to have a gun. For those who don’t know, Tennessee, where Ja lives right now, is a permit-less carry state. This means residents are allowed to carry a firearm without a license.
Although the player’s antics do not prove much, it would be safe for us to claim that the timing of it does not do him any favors. Reports say that his lawyers are relaxed about the situation with the 17-year-old. Moreover, they have buried the rumors of an arrest and suspension. One of his lawyers even mentioned that the lawsuit was an attempted shakedown.
