The NBA world is aware of the allegations against Ja Morant. For context, The Washington Post journalist Candance Buckner reported that the NBA star “pointed” a gun at a 17-year-old. However, she deleted the tweet later and mentioned:
“I deleted a previous tweet that incorrectly stated Morant *pointed* a gun at the 17-year-old boy. The actual alleged version of events is in the story: the boy told detectives Morant had a gun visible in his waistband and placed his hand on the weapon.”

For those who don’t know, Ja hosted a pick-up basketball game at his house in Tennessee last year. This was when a verbal argument between the two males turned physical, causing Ja to punch the boy “12-13” times. He also reportedly asked his friend if he should go ahead, to which the friend agreed. The boy filed a lawsuit against Morant sometime ago, which was reported by TMZ as well.
Will Ja Morant be suspended from the NBA?
Fans have wasted no time in demanding Ja’s arrest and suspension from the league. It looks like his off-the-court antics are not going down too well with the NBA community. However, Ja’s lawyers have alleged that these claims are false and that they are used to tarnish the player’s reputation.
According to The Post, Morant’s lawyers said, “The first thing we got was a $20 million demand. This is a shakedown.” Moreover, The Post reported that the teenager’s mother has a habit of filing lawsuits that have been based on unsubstantial claims.

If these rumors of the boy’s mother’s demands are true, the case would understandably have no concrete claim. We have witnessed various individuals file outrageous lawsuits against high-profile NBA players and this could be one of those cases as well. However, it could also be a real issue, and it would only be revealed through the investigation.
When the boy filed the lawsuit, it was concluded that the evidence was not enough to reach a verdict. Ja admitted that he punched the teenager but it was only an act of self-defense. Amid all this, it has been revealed that Ja also had an altercation with a mall’s security guard, and it surely does not reflect well on his character.
