Ja Morant has walked into deep waters once again and things aren’t looking too good for the NBA star. A couple of months ago, he was caught holding a gun while live-streaming on Instagram. He was suspended for eight games and was asked to go for therapy. Morant came clean and admitted his mistakes. However, even though he was apologetic for his actions, he slipped back into it once again.

While the Memphis Grizzlies star and his friend Davonte Pack were live on Instagram, they were jamming to one of NBA YoungBoy’s songs. At one point in the live stream, Pack pointed the camera at Ja Morant holding a gun. On realizing that Morant was waving the gun around, Pack instantly turned the camera back at him. Later, the two of them pretended as if nothing happened. However, a glimpse of Morant holding the gun was visible.

A fan page uploaded a thread of the video pinning the exact part where Morant openly waved the gun around. One of the threads said, “Y’all better not suspended my mans again let him rock @NBA @ESPNNBA @espn @wojespn.” The fan continued to accuse LeBron James for influencing Morant. They said, “This partly ya fault too @KingJames, sent my man out the playoffs to the streets.” James and the Lakers took out the Grizzlies in the first round. Things got a bit heated between both teams because of Dillon Brooks‘ attitude toward James.
LeBron James taught Ja Morant and the Grizzlies a lesson during the 2023 NBA Playoffs
During the first round of the playoffs, the Los Angeles Lakers were paired against the Grizzlies. LA had just competed in the play-in tournament, they weren’t favorites to win the series either. However, things went from bad to worse for Memphis at one point. Coming into the series, there was a lot of drama between Brooks and James. Such things tend to throw teams off their course.
Unfortunately, to add to the pressure, Ja Morant re-injured his hand. The former Most Improved Player of the Year is known for being a great attacker to the basket. As predicted by experts, this attribute became his worst enemy. On the other hand, LeBron made it a point to teach the young group a lesson and that is exactly what he did. Memphis exited the playoffs after the Lakers closed out the series in six games.
Following the series, the Grizzlies released Brooks for his poor attitude and irresponsible behavior. They stated that they will not bring him back under any circumstance. But fans are now worried that Morant will meet the same fate. He has been suspended from all Grizzlies activities until further notice. The league is currently investigating the issue as well.
