It is unclear how the former Chicago Bulls champion got involved in this lawsuit as most of the other individuals were from the Wrestling entertainment community. This isn’t the first time Jordan has been entangled with the law. MJ once was accused of not paying child support which turned out to be a false accusation. He was also sued by his lookalike. Here are the two times Mike almost got arrested.
Designer sues Michael Jordan and Nike for $30 million over copyright infringement
Michael Jordan’s collaboration with Nike was one of the biggest in sports history. However, one New York designer claimed that his hard work and effort were stolen by the Jordan brand. Rocco Giordano, founder of Faded Royalty claimed that Nike and a designer Cody Hudson stole his idea and used it for a Chicago Collaborators Collection launched before the 2020 All-Star Games.

Giordano claimed that he wasn’t aware that his logo was being used until people came forth to congratulate him for “collaborating” with Nike. He said that the logo was created in 2000 and it became a trademark for his brand in 2012. The designer sought $30 million in damages. Nike refused to comment on the issue as well.
A Michael Jordan lookalike, Allen Heckhard, filed a lawsuit worth $832 million
Michael Jordan is a very successful individual. So successful, that he is currently debated to be the greatest of all time. However, in this particular case, his lookalike hated being mistaken as Mike. He sued Jordan for a whopping $416 million and Nike for the same amount. Heckhard claimed that people recognizing him as Jordan caused him “emotional distress” which is quite absurd if you’re being compared to the basketball GOAT.
He sued Nike’s founder for the same amount which was estimated to be a total of $832 million. Heckhard involved Nike as, according to him, the company was responsible for making Jordan famous. He said that he did not feel comfortable being recognized as Mike and that he felt harassed while people looked at him. However, Heckhard barely came close to winning the case.
