- Doncic recorded a triple-double amidst the Mavericks loss to the Warriors.
Luka Doncic is undoubtedly next in line to be included in the GOAT debate. There hasn’t been a stop to his antics these days. And every time he steps on the floor, he gives the opposition a new problem to worry about. The Dallas Mavericks recently played against the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center. Before the game, Doncic and Steph Curry had a brief logo shot battle. After Curry beat Luka, the latter hilariously blamed it on the court.

It is hard not to like and appreciate things Doncic has done on the floor. But always gives fans a reason to like him a little more every day. Even though the All-Star has embraced the role of a villain at times, fans eventually come around to appreciate the great skills he puts on display. Unfortunately, the Mavericks weren’t able to walk away with an extended win streak to a perfect 5/5 on the road.
Luka Doncic shines despite Mavericks’ tragic end to a road trip
There isn’t a reason why the Mavericks aren’t a good playoff team. Lately, they’ve looked like scary threats for other contenders, especially after achieving a seven-game win streak before meeting the Warriors. Luka Doncic finished the game with 30 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. Yet another triple-double added to the record books. He’s shown great potential to surpass the top five players who have the most triple-doubles record.
Following the loss, Doncic said, “We’re a good team. In all the ways. I’m serious. Our defense has stepped up big, our offense is good so I think we have a great team.” Dallas’ starting lineup was solely responsible for the numbers put up. Kyrie Irving followed through with 27 points while PJ Washington had 20 points added to the scoreboard. The Warriors are scheduled to meet them once again at the American Airlines Center on April 5.
Can Luka Doncic become as good of a shooter as Steph Curry?
Fate knows when Steph Curry plans on concluding his run in the NBA. The 36-year-old has been averaging 26.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5 assists per game while shooting 4.8 three-pointers on 12 attempts. As far as Luka Doncic becoming as good of a shooter as Curry, the possibility remains achievable. Within his first six seasons, Curry averaged 2.7 made three-pointers per game.
Luka Doncic has shot more three-pointers than Curry within his first six seasons. The Mavericks guard averages 3 made three-point attempts per game right now. Additionally, he averages 0.8 three-pointers less than the legendary shooter this season. Doncic ranks second to Curry in three-pointers made this season. Chances are Doncic may come close to cracking Steph’s record. But he has already established himself as an elite shooter. Doncic recently broke the Mavericks’ franchise record for most three-pointers in a single season.
