With the Golden State Warriors picking up the 2022 NBA title we also saw the end of the 2021-22 NBA season. That meant that we are now in the off-season. This time of year is synonymous with huge trades and team shakeups which is just as entertaining as the NBA season. One instance is, Russell Westbrook, snapping at Skip Bayless after he made a trade reaction.
Russell Westbrook was at one point an A-list talent in the NBA. He was an MVP that could average a triple-double on any given night.
He was also a 2-time scoring champion and NBA assist leader. Westbrook was also an almost guaranteed inclusion to the all-star and all-NBA teams. But now, towards the twilight years of his career, he’s been bounced around the league with the title of a ‘wasted salary dump’.
Russell Westbrook does not appreciate the words of Skip Bayless
Skip Bayles is an NBA analyst that is famous only for his public hate of LeBron James. And considering the Los Angeles Lakers suffered last season because of Westbrook, he’s surely not going to keep that out of his arguments.
On draft night, the Los Angeles Lakers made a trade with Orlando. They traded a future 2nd round pick for the 35th pick in the 2022 NBA draft. With that pick, they drafted Max Christie. For Michigan, he averaged 9 points with a great shooting percentage from the free-throw line.
This was a 2nd round pick which meant that the talent was not supposed to be extraordinary. However, Skip will never miss an opportunity to bash on LA.
“Lakers acquire a 2nd-round pick, take Michigan State’s Max Christie, who shot only 32% from 3 last season. Perfect! He’ll fit right in with LeBron and Westbrick.”
At this point in his career, LeBron James has tuned out Skip Bayless. However, Westbrook is walking on thin ice at the moment with his name circling in all kinds of trade rumors. He’s been trying to shake off the title of ‘Westbrick’ this whole season through interviews. And this tweet painted him in a bad light.
“Yoooo… watch your mouth. Don’t say anything here you wouldn’t say to my face.”

Westbrook replied to Skip Bayless with a threat. Skip has a very biased opinion but forcing him to not share it is worse than what he said. It’s evident that the second the Lakers get an ideal trade for Russ, they’ll jump on it. But the triple-double machine is making his exit an ugly one.
