SUMMARY
- Snoop Dogg claimed that the Lakers need to make roster changes.
- The Lakers are currently ninth in the Western Conference with a 24-23 record.
Snoop Dogg has been a loyal follower of the Los Angeles Lakers over the years. And based on how the Lakers are currently performing, any normal fan would feel disappointed. Despite having all the pieces they have, they still rank one among the Play-In Tournament teams. This isn’t an ideal place for LA to be in especially since they have stars who still actively playing like they’re in their prime.
During a recent appearance on the All The Smoke Podcast, the American Rapper shared his opinion on what the Lakers need to do. He said, “Jeanie [Buss] this is going to hurt me more than hurt you. We have to move some furniture. Big pieces of furniture, if you know what I mean. Because any time a young team comes to town, we freeze up. We can handle the old dogs, and the could’ve, would’ve, should’ve… but when them young goons come to town… God damn.”
Snoop Dogg believes the Lakers are due to go through some changes on the roster. LA has been trying its best to make changes ahead of the trade deadline. Dejounte Murray has been a player that’s being linked to the Lakers. However, sources claim that despite the heavy rumors, the Lakers and Atlanta Hawks have not seen any progress in this scenario.
Snoop Dogg throws some shade at Lakers’ Taurean Prince
The Lakers do have a couple of pieces besides LeBron James and Anthony Davis who can benefit the team very well. Players like D’Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves have been great third and fourth scoring options on the roster. However, LA needs to start piecing together a defensive set of players to back Davis up while taking some responsibility for scoring.
Snoop Dogg indirectly threw some shade at Taurean Prince from the Lakers’ starting claiming that he needs to be better. He said, “Old dog (LeBron James) do your thing. Imma get yours cuh doing his thing. The n***a that looks like me, he be hitting sometimes and he be missing sometimes. You can’t be looking like Snoop Dogg and not making n***a.”

Prince has been averaging 9.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game on 42.7% shooting. Being a starter entails a very important role, especially on the Lakers team. James has taken a step back from scoring only 25 points per game this season. And there is only so much that Davis can do while being the best defender on the team. Prince was expected to be a solid role player by at least averaging just under 15 points per game. But that hasn’t worked out.
