Paul Pierce stands as one of the greatest basketball players of this generation. For the number of years he played in the NBA, he was always the best player on the court. “The Truth” was a master of the three-point shot and dominated offensively as well. Numerous stories surround the legend’s career, including being stabbed multiple times before playing 82 games in a season.
But every legend experiences its lowest point. Paul Pierce faced his inevitable fate after his mother passed away recently. The Boston Celtics Hall of Famer has not spoken about it yet, but the entire NBA world came together to support him. His former rival, Richard Jefferson, reached out via Twitter saying, “Somethings are bigger than basketball. Thoughts with Paul Pierce right now.” Fans began to flood the comments extending their support.

For all we know, Truth and his mother probably had a very good relationship. His silence on social media speaks volumes, expressing his grief at this moment. There is no news regarding the cause of his mother’s death yet. Pierce also has two elder brothers, Steve and Jamal Hosey.
Paul Pierce speaks out on being laid off by ESPN
Paul Pierce had a great NBA career which eventually paved the way for his television journey. He used to appear on various segments of ESPN alongside Jalen Rose, and Jay Williams as well as other hosts and analysts. Pierce had some wild takes during his career that often struck a chord with the viewers. But unfortunately, his television career came to an end before its prime.
Over two years ago, Paul Pierce went live on social media while partying with his friends. The former NBA All-Star appeared to be intoxicated and in the presence of strippers. ESPN terminated his contract immediately after the incident took place. Recently, he spoke about his firing on the “I AM ATHLETE” podcast. He feels that he never did anything wrong.

“I got fired for having some entertainment. I’m playing cards. It’s my boy’s birthday. It’s girls dancing. We’re blowing some tree. What did I do wrong?” Paul said. But Pierce recognized that Disney, the majority owners of ESPN, had rules their representatives had to follow. Paul failed to adhere to them, which ultimately had him sacked. Since then, the legend has not appeared on television as much, mostly giving his time to podcasts and social media.
