The All-Star Games are one of the most sought-after events that take place in the NBA calendar. The NBA All-Star Weekend’s slam dunk contest has brought some of basketball history’s iconic moments. We all obviously remember when Michael Jordan defied gravity by jumping from the free-throw line. Next comes Vince Carter jamming his arm through the rim and hanging from it. The contest recently brought us one of the greatest back-and-forth exchanges between Zach LaVine and Aaron Gordon.
When will the 2023 NBA Slam Dunk Contest take place?
Every year, players look forward to bringing back memories and impressing the masses. The 2023 NBA All-Star Dunk Contest will take place on February 18, 2023, at the Vivint Arena, Utah. The contest will feature a couple of new names this year but do not be fooled, they are very creative with what they do.
AT&T Slam Dunk Contest Participants:
- Kenyon Martin Jr. – Houston Rockets
- Mac McClung – Philadelphia 76ers
- Trey Murphy III – New Orleans Pelicans
- Jericho Sims – New York Knicks
The judges expected to spectate their performances are Dominique Wilkins, a former Slam Dunk Contest champion himself who revolutionized the art form of dunking. Former 3x NBA Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford and former Slam Dunk Champ Harold Miner will be present as well. Finally, the WNBA’s very own Lisa Leslie will also be present on the judge’s panel.
Where to catch the 2023 NBA Slam Dunk Contest?
For those who are willing to travel far to watch their favorite players compete, fans can travel to Salt Lake City’s Vivint Arena, Utah. For the ones at home who feel like they are missing out on the action, the NBA will be live-streaming the games on TNT.
