Can we already compare Luka Doncic to NBA legends like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant? This might seem absurd, at least in terms of accomplishments. Nonetheless, NBA fans shouldn’t be quick to forget that Luka Doncic is doing something that all the NBA greats before him have been unable to do.
As we all know, Michael Jordan has 6 NBA titles to his name. On the other hand, Kobe Bryant has 5 championships. Therefore, we can’t really claim that Luka has surpassed them in terms of accolades and winning. Despite that, what he has been doing over the past few games is truly incredible and deserves its due credit.
Luka Doncic is on a scoring steak better than what we have seen from Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan
While the time between Christmas and New Year is one of celebration and contentment, there is no denying that Doncic is anything but content. At 23 years of age and still, significantly far from entering his prime, Doncic has done something that even Jordan and Bryant never accomplished.

We are referring to his incredible 5 game streak between the 24th of December and the 1st of January. “Luka Legend” managed to score 50+ points thrice in this timeframe of 5 games. While we have heard of NBA stars going off on 30-point or 40-point streaks, what Luka did has never really been done before.
Gregg Popovich, jokingly: “We’re holding Luka under 50.”

Thus, fans of the Dallas Mavericks star can now claim that he is on a level that we have simply never seen before. Luka has also entered a special crowd by being one of 8 players in league history to have multiple 50-point games before turning 25. Additionally, in one of these games against the New York Knicks, Doncic had 60 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists.

A 60-point triple-double was also completely unheard of and seen by the NBA until this point. We hope that he is able to maintain this streak and also eventually carry the Mavericks to a coveted NBA title. That would truly give him a case against the NBA legends of the past.
