Things in the NBA world are not going particularly well for Rudy Gobert. He has certainly not been playing to his full potential for the Minnesota Timberwolves. They are coming off a recent narrow loss to Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans.
Zion son 🤣🔥

Zion had a monster night when guarded by Rudy, a player who is significantly taller and more experienced. The Pelican star scored 43 points and absolutely dominated against Gobert. This is truly disappointing for Timberwolves fans as the franchise gave up so much in order to obtain the Stifel Tower from the Utah Jazz. Let us take a look at how fans feel about all of this and what Rudy’s explanation is.
Players who were traded for Rudy Gobert
NBA fans know that the Utah Jazz finally gave up on their franchise cornerstone this offseason. They traded away Donovan Mitchell to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves. While Mitchell is certainly proving to be a good fit for the Cavs, the same cannot be said for Gobert.
The Rudy Gobert trade will go down as one of the worst trades in NBA history, not just Wolves history.

Utah got an absolute haul from the Timberwolves in return for Rudy Gobert. The package included 4 players, Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Leandro Bolmaro, Walker Kessler, and Jarred Vanderbilt. Moreover, there were also 4 first-round draft picks and a pick swap.
you’re one of the worst DPOYs in league history shut up

After his performance against the Pelicans and Miami Heat, fans think this was a terrible deal, “No exaggeration at all, the Rudy Gobert trade might go down as the Worst trade in modern NBA history.”

He defended himself against the multiple people criticizing him, “The average fan might not understand what I bring to the table, but the G.M’s in the league do.”

This might come across as condescending, to say the least. Rudy has not picked a good time to justify his behavior. The Minnesota Timberwolves currently hold a record of 16 wins and 19 losses. Additionally, they are on a 4 game-losing streak and are positioned 11th in a very competitive Western Conference. Just one win ahead of the Oklahoma City Thunder and two ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Gobert was involved in the worst trade in NBA history. And he’s the worst part

We hope that Gobert is able to prove that both the G.M. and himself that they are right by carrying the Timberwolves to a better record and good postseason. As we remember, they were the 7th seed last season and made it to the first round of the NBA playoffs. If they fall short of even that after the sacrifice made for Gobert, it will certainly invite further criticism.
