Michael Jordan inspired an entire generation of basketball fans when he was a part of the NBA during the 80s and 90s and early 2000s. He was so good that many argue he would dominate the game even today. Fans have always wanted Jordan to return to the game after hearing stories of him playing against his Charlotte Hornets team. But with a recent update in the world of sports, are their dreams about to come true?
Recently, fans were baffled upon hearing about “Michael Jordan” returning to sports. Unfortunately, it was G. Michael Jordan who recently landed a deal with the NFL’s Carolina Panthers. The name caught all basketball fans off guard and several tweets online did not mention the lineman’s full name. And yet again, Jordan fans were left disappointed that the legend isn’t returning. Here are a couple of reactions.

“So it wasn’t his last dance after all I see,” said one fan. Another fan expressed his frustration at the Twitter account holder who reported the signing. The best comment of them all is, “Anything to challenge Lebrons legacy I guess.” NBA’s Michael Jordan was previously rumored to return to the game. However, the website that reported his return was a fake news site.
When was the last time lineman Michael Jordan played in the NFL?
George Michael Jordan was a fourth-round pick that was selected in the 2019 NFL draft from Ohio State. Jordan hasn’t had the best career in the NFL but his form showed great potential. Drafted in 2019, he was welcomed by the Cincinnati Bengals. After a mediocre stint with the Bengals, they waived him and he was immediately recruited by the Panthers.
During his first year with the Panthers, he started several games but the team would push him to be an offensive rotational option. After this, even the Panthers waived him from the roster. Carolina would once again upgrade him to the roster and play him in games. He last played in the NFL last year, but hopes of his return weren’t too great.
However, the Panthers were on the lookout for offensive depth which is why they chose to re-sign Jordan. Carolina has made a couple of other additions to their roster as well to add depth. The Panthers have always been a great team but hopefully, things get better during the upcoming season.
