NBA Matchup: Phoenix Suns vs Utah Jazz
Date: 27th February 2022
Time: 3:30 pm ET
An afternoon-time duel between the 1st and the 4th seed in the West is taking place today. The Phoenix Suns will be looking to get their 50th win this season against the Utah Jazz. The Suns will be the first team this season to achieve this and will almost guarantee a spot in the NBA playoffs no matter what happens in the rest of the season.
The Utah Jazz is closer to being the 8th seed than to the first. With how crazy the 2nd half of the season could be, they need to ensure they don’t slip up because they could drop in the rankings instantly. These two teams have played each other twice in back-to-back games on the 25th and 27th of January.
Who is winning this season series?
Just like the Phoenix Suns are dominating the league, the same way they’re dominating the Jazz. Towards the end of January, these teams played 2 games back to back but the result was the same. Devin Booker played out of his mind scoring 33 in game 1 and 43 in game 2.
However, the Jazz was massively handicapped and played both games without Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell. Missing both your all-stars against the best team in the league does sound unfair. Jordan Clarkson, Forrest, Conley, and Whiteside were the few bright spots for the Jazz in both those games.
Another positive for the Jazz was that they shot well in both games. They just didn’t shoot enough.
Phoenix Suns vs Utah Jazz Match prediction
The Utah Jazz cannot win this season series but they can tie it. It would not mean anything but beating the Suns reminds them that it’s not an easy way to the Finals. With Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell, the Jazz will look spectacular. They are also fresh off a win.
The Suns, as amazing as they have looked, they’re missing Chris Paul. We saw that they could not beat the injured Pelicans and the Jazz are way tougher than an opponent.
The Healthy Utah Jazz is expected to beat the Chris Paul-less Phoenix Suns.
