NBA Matchup: Philadelphia 76ers vs Washington Wizards
Date: 29th May 2021
Time: 7:00 PM ET (4:30 AM IST)
Game 3 of round 1 of Russell Westbrook and his Wizards vs Joel Embiid and his 76ers will be played tonight. The number 1 seeded Philadelphia 76ers have a 2-0 series lead over Washington Washington. However, most of the spotlight of this series has been off the court. In game 2, Russell Westbrook left the game with an ankle injury and on the way out had pop-corn poured on him by a Philadelphia fan. This has dominated the headlines over the game itself.
In all 5 of the games these two teams have faced off, the Philadelphia 76ers have been the better team winning all 5.

Philadelphia 76ers vs Washington Wizards Game 3 Prediction
The Washington Wizards are an average offensive and below-average defensive team ranking 17th and 19th in the league respectively. However, the reason they have made the playoffs is because they’re number 1 in the league in pace. That means they have the most number of possession per 48 minutes.
This running mentality is tailored around the game of Russell Westbrook. He drives hard into the paint for easy points or dishes it out for even easier shots. The way the game is played has helped him average nearly 12 assists a game this season. However, with his injury in the last game, all the load now falls on Bradley Beal. And as we’ve seen before this team really needs their 2 stars to be somewhat competitive.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been dominant. Like their other high seeded compatriots in the East, they have been leading this series, except for the Knicks. In this series, Philly has lead in all important categories namely points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, percentages and even have lower turnovers.
This matchup hasn’t been close from the get-go. With Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons being efficient with their shots and their supporting cast, they are serious contenders to take out the almighty Nets. This series should end in 4 games or at a maximum of 5 in their favour. Their only concern is to see how Tobias recovers from his ankle tweak for future rounds.
My prediction for tonight’s game is Philadelphia going up 3-0 in the series making it statistically impossible for the Wizards to win this series.
