The line-up was so incredible that they managed to keep a perfect record during the tournament. And it is not just that, it is the way they did it.
The United States men’s basketball team thrashed every team that played against them. From the very first game against Cuba, they didn’t let any team come close to them. Beating every team in the group stage with an average of 46 points, and scored 110+ points every game. Except for the gold medal game, they scored 103 points against Croatia. The ‘Dream Team’ was as harmonious as it comes. The entire team had star power in every position, and couldn’t doubt them for once to be favorites. All the players were used to playing against each other, but they looked like they had been playing together for a while.
