Joel Embiid is a 7 foot Center for the Philadelphia 76ers. Embiid had a wonderful 2020-21 NBA season. he finished second in the MVP race behind Nikola Jokic. This talented Center finished the previous season with 28.1 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game.

Sometimes teams and a certain player form a relationship so strong that is difficult to see one without the other. Like how Stephen Curry stays loyal to the Warriors or how Kobe Bryant remained with the Lakers, Joel Embiid has decided that he will finish his career with the team that brought him to the league.

Joel Embiid signs a 4-year supermax extension with the Philadelphia 76ers

Philadelphia 76ers had a disappointing end to their playoff run in 2021. They have two talented superstars in Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. However, the team did not sync well and was eventually kicked off the championship race. A new season is on its way and every team is pulling of strategic moves to help strengthen their teams

The Philadelphia 76ers have been in the news for quite some time. Their star player Ben Simmons is the center of most trade rumors going around in the league. However, the 76ers made the news for something other than Ben Simmons when they signed a deal with Joel Embiid.

The Philadelphia 76ers drafted Joel Embiid in  2014. Since then, Embiid has grown and matured as a player and is one of the best centers in the league right now. The two parties have decided to extend this bond further.  Embiid signed a four-year supermax contract extension worth $196 Million.

This massive extension is one of a kind. Embiid will be under contract with the 76ers through the 2026-27 season. This means that Joel Embiid will earn a total of $261 Million. This includes the $65 Million pending from the final two years of his previous deal.

 Embiid looks to retire as a 76er

Joel Embiid was extremely happy when the Philadelphia 76ers trusted him and brought him back on a massive contract. Embiid has grown and has fallen in love with the team, city, and management. It sure does look like this superstar is really looking forward to finishing his career in Philadelphia.

With the 76ers signing Embiid on a huge contract the question shifts again. Where is Ben Simmons going for the 2021-22 NBA season?  The 76ers and Simmons have indirectly made it clear that the two want to go separate ways. The 76ers have now focused on building a wonderful roster around their superstar, Joel Embiid.
