Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers have not been on good terms for quite some time. Both parties are ready to quit their 4-year relationship with each other. The 76ers have shown their interest in letting the 3-time All-Star go and Simmons has reciprocated a mutual feeling. All things indicate a deal taking place eventually and Simmons leaving the organization.
Ben Simmons cuts of all communication with the 76ers
“Ben Simmons is not answering the phone calls,” says former NBA player Kendrick Perkins, before the Sixer’s Summer League debut yesterday.” He doesn’t wanna be with the 76ers, and from what I heard, he’s willing not to report to training camp and will go as far as it takes to get out of Philly. So, I say where there’s smoke, there’s fire.” is what he added to his former statement. Simmons is also unwilling to attend the 76ers’ training camp and will hold out till he gets traded, says Perkins.
Doc and Embiid threw his ass under the bus, the fans booed the hell out of him and the GM tried to trade him … why tf would Ben Simmons want to stay in Philly? https://t.co/p9pDOxKq1S

However, the 76ers have set a specific target and won’t let go of Ben Simmons unless they get what they are looking for. Both Simmons and the Sixers will have to wait patiently till this situation sorts itself out. If nothing happens and no deal takes place, Simmons will have to head to the 76ers’ training camp.

The Philadelphia 76ers are trying their luck towards getting Damian Lillard according to Derek Bodner of The Athletic. Philadelphia’s president of basketball operations Daryl Morey also had his eyes on James Harden last season. He is now in pursuit of getting the Portland Trail Blazers All-Star to play for the 76ers.
The Sixers are reportedly making a play for Damian Lillard – is it a realistic one? Kendrick Perkins says Philadelphia has to do *something* soon, because he believes Ben Simmons is willing to sit out of training camp if he's not dealt: 👀 pic.twitter.com/MT3BIunbMV

According to Jason Dumas of KRON4 News, Simmons has been used as leverage by the 76ers this off-season to get other trades done. The Sixers could be trying this to raise Simmons’ value before planning a Lillard deal. They would ultimately have to add more than Simmons to bring home Lillard, but it would be worth it to get a title shot.
