NBA fans could potentially see a trade that involves Bojan Bogdanovic taking his talents to the Los Angeles Lakers. That would clearly mean playing with LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook. We are a little more than a quarter of the way into the NBA season. A vague picture of the NBA postseason has begun to form in fans’ minds already.
At this rate, it is quite unlikely for either the Detroit Pistons or Los Angeles Lakers to make the NBA playoffs. Therefore, trade between them is all the more likely. At least compared to a trade between two contending teams.
Both the Pistons and the Lakers are in the bottom half of their respective conference. Detroit currently holds a subpar record of 7 wins and 22 losses. While the Lakers are struggling at 11 wins and 16 losses. We should take a look at whether there is actually any legitimate possibility for trade.
Bojan Bogdanovic’s performance against LeBron James-led Lakers might have done the trick
To be clear, the Los Angeles Lakers were already interested in Bojan Bogdanovic heading into this NBA season. He is definitely the best player and shooter on the Detroit Pistons at the moment. Especially with Pistons star Cade Cunningham sidelined due to injuries at the moment.
Unlike Cade, Bojan is a pure and lethal shooter. This is something that the Los Angeles Lakers seem to desperately need. After all, putting shooters around LeBron James has always been a recipe for success over the years.
In any case, after the game between the Pistons and Lakers, it appears that trade talks between both organizations have increased in the background. This would certainly make sense considering what Bogdanovic almost managed to do to the Lakers. The game ended with the Lakers winning with a final score of 117-124. However, there is no denying that Bojan was one of the best players on the court. He finished the night with a game-high and season-high 38 points. By doing so, he outscored LeBron James and Anthony Davis, who had 35 and 34 points respectively. Albeit in a somewhat narrow loss.
In the aftermath of the game, NBA insider Shams Charania shared that there was an increase in interest for the Pistons star, “The Lakers are prioritizing shooting in their conversations with teams, and have discussed packages including salaries and a protected first-round pick for Detroit’s Bojan Bogdanovic.”Shams also went on to share a disclaimer claiming that these were from league sources, who were granted anonymity so that they could speak freely. It is unclear how good Charania’s sources are. But a Bogdanovic trade to the Lakers just might end up happening soon.
