The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to make some moves this NBA offseason and Kyrie Irving could find himself in a new team. NBA fans already know the situation at hand. LeBron James’ Lakers are currently struggling and have a long way to go in order to make the NBA postseason.
While LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook are still playing at a high level, none of them are particularly known for or good at outside shooting. Or even free throw shooting for that matter. With that being said, we should wonder about the probability of a trade involving Kyrie going to Los Angeles and playing once again with his former teammate.
The Los Angeles Lakers are showing a growing interest in Kyrie Irving
While it is completely possible for all these trade talks to be nothing more than empty smoke, we should still wonder if a trade involving Los Angeles and Brooklyn will go down. At the moment, the Nets are playing much better and have won 9 of their last 10 games.
On the other hand, the Lakers are yet to climb up the table and go on a solid win streak. No team wishes to do the other a favor in this league. Nonetheless, it is still possible for the Lakers to trade for Irving. Either of these trades would also involve the future draft picks the Lakers have protected so far.
“...Other names that have come up are DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Kuzma, Myles Turner, Buddy Hield, Kyrie Irving and Doug McDermott.”
There is no denying that the Lakers could use an elite player like Kyrie. However, they should also consider trading for other pure shooters, or reliable bigs. The shooters will allow LeBron, AD, and Russ to handle the ball, drive and kick it out. On the other hand, a center like Myles Turner will revolutionize the current defense for the team.
