In the first-ever Clorox Clutch Challenge Tyrese Maxey and Scottie Barnes managed to become the worst-performing duo. They didn’t have much of any luck in the rising star game either as Team Worthy and Team Payton got eliminated in the earlier rounds.
NBA has introduced several new events in the all-star weekend this season and completely revamped the rising star game. Players from the NBA g-league Ignite team were invited to play as well.
Despite the embarrassing loss, Scottie Barnes and Tyrese Maxey’s hugging each other while being announced was the cutest moment of the event. That goofiness most likely translated into the game as well.

Tyrese Maxey and Scottie Barnes go down as the worst duo in Clutch Challenge history
The challenge involved 5 of the most clutch shots in the history of NBA. Reggie Miller’s MJ shove and 3-pointer, Damian Lillard’s Dame time inception shot against OKC in the 2019 playoffs were among the 5 shots.
But it was Magic Johnson’s baby hook that Maxey and Barnes struggled with. They could only knock down 1 shot before the clock ran out. In addition, they missed 6 six layups and that consumed most of their time. It wasn’t too long ago when James Harden was shouting “THANK YOU” to Tyrese Maxey after his clutch and-one layup but the Sixers star struggled tonight.

They will most likely make the Shaqtin’s all-star edition next week and the TNT crew will have quite a lot to say about it. Desmond Bane and Tyrese Haliburton won the challenge but the latter carried. They finished it in 39.1 seconds with Haliburton making 4 shots and Bane drilling the Lillard long-distance three.
The practice will surely come in handy when Desmond Bane takes part in the 3-pt contest Saturday night.
