The NBA sees around 60 new players enter the league every year. Mostly through the NBA draft. As the 2023 NBA Draft approaches, fans are eager to find out which young player can be the next star in the NBA. The Thompson twins are two players looking to make their mark on the sport and potentially make it all the way to the NBA.
Fans should wonder if they will be eligible to try out at the 2023 NBA Draft. This is quite a hyped-up draft class largely thanks to Victor Wembenyamna. However, we shouldn’t completely forget about the other athletes who will be a part of that draft. With that being said, let us take a closer look at the Thompson twins and understand what they bring to the table.
Amen and Ausar Thompson will be top prospects in the 2023 NBA draft
It is always interesting to see twins or siblings make it into the NBA at the same time. Milwaukee Bucks star Jrue Holiday has two brothers in the league Aaron Holiday and Justin Holiday. Brook Lopez’s brother Robin Lopez is also an NBA player. We certainly shouldn’t forget the two Ball brothers who also made it into the NBA.
There are several other families in the league. Amen and Ausar look to join their company as both brothers are projected to be top lottery picks in the 2023 NBA draft. While it is highly unlikely for one of them to be selected first, teams will still be looking to add them to their roster.
Both brothers will be eligible for this NBA draft considering that they are 20 years old. They were born in Oakland California, where NBA fans know Stephen Curry plays with the Golden State Warriors. Having access and exposure to a high-tier NBA franchise certainly helped aid in their development.
Amen and Ausar are listed at 2.01m. That puts them at around 6’6 and gives them enough height to guard versatile players in the league. Both of them are already technically professional players as they represent the Overtime City Reapers in the Overtime Elite League.
While it is quite difficult to distinguish between them, fans will find it useful to know that Amen is considered the better playmaker and a better athlete. On the other hand, Ausar is a better shooter and plays defense at a high level.
Both of them are very close and would prefer playing on the same team. Like they are currently doing in the Overtime Elite League. However, that is highly unlikely to occur in the NBA. In any case, we wish both of them all the best in their professional careers.
