Ja Morant is on the news, after shocking revelations about his off-the-court antics. Despite his stellar rise in the NBA with the Memphis Grizzlies, the allegations against him don’t look good. The Grizzlies drafted Morant 2nd overall in the 2019 NBA Draft. Since then Morant’s performance has been nothing less than spectacular. However, the guard is just 23, and according to his actions, yet to reach maturity, if he wishes to have a top NBA career.
Ja has been accused of punching a 17-year-old during a game of pickup basketball. What’s even more shocking is he flashed a gun at the minor, which has attracted labels from NBA fans, calling him a “thug.”
His most recent incident involved his long-time friend Davonte Pack. Just like Morant, he is also a basketball player, however, he went undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft. Pack played for Friends University, and averaged 14.9 ppg in 67 games, he scored a total of 1,004 points in his entire college career. Nonetheless, their actions caused yet another controversy for them.

On January 29, the Grizzlies played the Indiana Pacer, at home. Pack was seen in the front row, supporting his friend and trash-talking to the Pacers’ players. However, in the third quarter, Morant got into an altercation on the court with Pacers’ Andrew Nembhard. During the incident, Pack and Morant’s father Tee got into a verbal altercation. However, Pack, security escorted him out of the court.
Associates of Ja Morant verbally accosted Pacers personnel and someone trained a red laser on them from a nearby SUV postgame on Jan. 29.
“We felt we were in grave danger,” a person who was present said.
The NBA investigated the incident.

However, a serious incident occurred after the game when a red laser was pointed at the Pacers from an SUV. This caused the Pacers staff to feel “in grave danger,” when the players and coaches were getting on the bus. This led to an investigation by the NBA, which resulted in Davonte Pack being banned from the FedEx Forum. However, according to the report, Morant was driving the SUV.
How did Ja Morant react to NBA’s decision to ban Davonte Pack from FedEx Forum Arena?
The decision from the NBA banning Davonte Pack from the FedEx Forum was not taken lightly by the Grizzlies Guard. Ja had strong words for the decision on Twitter.“did a investigation seen they were cappin . still let a article come out to paint this negative image on me & my fam . & banned my brother from home games for a year . unbelievable,” said Ja.

As stated by Morant in the above Tweet, he goes on to raise questions on the legitimacy of the post. The post was put up by The Athletic, who brought up the incident from the parking lot.
As reported by The Washington Post In the recent case where Morant is being investigated for punching the Minor, Davonte is said to be present in that incident as well. The Post’s Candance Buckner’s tweet proves this: “I deleted a previous tweet that incorrectly stated Morant *pointed* a gun at the 17-year-old boy. The actual alleged version of events is in the story: the boy told detectives Morant had a gun visible in his waistband and placed his hand on the weapon.” That said, Morant is walking on thin ice at the moment, and anything Morant does will be heavily scrutinized.
