Who Is Najee Seabrooks and How Is He Related to Kyrie Irving?

Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving caused quite a lot of heads to turn by sending out a tweet paying homage and respect to Najee Seabrooks. As all NBA fans will be aware by now, Irving has always been considered somewhat eccentric by the majority of the NBA media and fans. After all, he has made and promoted several controversial theories over the years.

Be that as it may, one could argue that there is always some truth and deeper meaning behind what Kyrie Irving decides to share at times. In fact, the majority of his posts on social media appear to be quite cryptic and difficult for ordinary people to understand. Nonetheless, his message is clear in this scenario. That said, fans must certainly want to know more about Seabrooks and whether he is related to Irving.

Kyrie Irving pays homage to Najee Seabrooks after a fatal shooting by police officers

It turns out that Irving and Najee aren’t related. However, that does not change the fact that Kyrie felt the need to draw attention to Seabrooks. Some NBA fans might have already heard about the unfortunate tragedy that ended in the demise of Najee.

Perhaps calling it a tragedy is inaccurate. After all, that implies that it was inadvertent and simply couldn’t be helped. That is clearly not what happened to Najee during a protest. He was involved in a violence prevention group march on Friday.

The dark irony in his protest is the fact that Seabrooks was killed in a fatal shooting by police officers during his very march for the reduction and prevention of violence. According to the reports, officers from the Paterson Police department were the ones behind his death.

Irving lent his voice and influence to aid all the people fighting for and protesting the death of Najee Seabrooks. Considering the era that we live in, there is no doubt that the officers will be punished. The protestors are demanding that they be fired and that the body camera footage of their activities is released.

While it is unclear whether Irving wants this as well. He simply sent out a message, “Long Live King Najee Seabrooks Rest Easy with the Ancestors.” Perhaps Kyrie understands the value of human life and was simply giving Seabrooks his due respect. However, since he has been actively involved in social justice, it is fully possible that Irving also wants justice and is using his influence to shed light on this situation.
