Zhang Weili, the UFC strawweight champion, is one of the best MMA fighters competing today. Weili most recently had a lighthearted sparring match with NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal in the gym. While it was done in pure fun, the clip showcased both Weili’s combat prowess and strength.
Weili defied physics once again, as she did the same with the former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. For some perspective, the strawweight queen typically fights in the 115 lbs. division of the UFC and is 5ft-4in tall. Former NBA star and successful investor ‘Shak’ on the other hand, weighs well over 300 lbs. and is a big man to say the least. Weili being able to lift him was both surprising and funny for the fans out there.
“Shaq vs. Zhang confirmed for UFC 300”– wrote an Instagram user jokingly. Another fan pointed out the strength that top UFC fighters possess as they asked, “Is this real evidence that fighter strength is different from bodybuilding/powerlifting strength”?

A lot of comments were also aimed at trolling popular fitness influencer and podcaster Bradley Martin. He has recently gained popularity in the MMA community, by challenging UFC athletes to street fights. Martyn’s major advantage according to him is the fact that he weighs around 260 lbs.
“This just further proves Bradley Martyn wouldn’t do sh*t against any UFC fighter lol”- wrote an Instagram user. “Is she 260 tho?”- wrote another fan, trolling Bradley Martyn yet again.
Jokes aside, MMA fans really appreciated Zhang Weili’s incredible ability to communicate with people in spite of linguistic and cultural barriers. This brings in so much warmth and generates only good energy in the otherwise brutal world of combat sports.
Bradley Martyn responds after Zhang Weili displays amazing strength to lift Shaquille O’Neal
After the internet decided to troll Bradley Martyn in the comment section of the video posted by Zhang Weili where she hoisted Shaquille O’Neal, the popular influencer joined the action as he responded to a video with his classic one-liner.
Not me tho I’m 260
— Bradley Martyn (@BradleyMartyn) September 30, 2023
Martyn wrote, “Not me tho I’m 260” in a reply to the video. It was good to see the bodybuilder taking this playful video and the fan comments in a humorous way. The body-builder has made name for himself in the combat sports community because of his bold claims to make easy work of top UFC fighters. He has challenged the likes of Nate Diaz, Demetrious Johnson, and UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley.
Martyn claims that his significant size advantage will be his plus point. The 34-year-old continues to invite fighters and other celebrities for a hypothetical street fight despite being made fun of by the MMA world.
