UFC 300 has been the talk of the town for a long time now. With the saga related to its main card and headliner finally coming to an end, the focus soon shifted to what comes after. Considering that the historic PPV is almost upon us, let’s take a look at what awaits the fans afterward.
Previously, it was revealed that the all-important card would be headlined by Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill. Whilst the fight is itself an exciting one, fans felt that they were let down after promises of something groundbreaking by President Dana White. To make matters worse, it was later revealed that the headliner was in fact originally set for UFC 301 in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

However, despite all of its shortcomings, fans soon moved past what could have and should have been. For the most part, the promotion has arguably done a solid job in putting together the fights that they have. With that said, fans have been keen to know what awaits them after the historic PPV event.
Confirmed upcoming UFC fights
Naturally, times have changed and the UFC is no longer the only entity that announces their fights. With the involvement of agents and journalists, news of upcoming fights often makes it to social media, before the promotion can announce it themselves. As such, let’s take a look at some of the confirmed upcoming bouts.
Previously, it was announced that Alexandre Pantoja would be headlining in Brazil. With Alex Pereira being moved up to UFC 300, it led to some massive responsibilities on Pantoja’s shoulders. To make matters worse, the state of the flyweight division meant that #10-ranked Steve Erceg would be his opponent. As a result, the fight faced a lot of criticism and ridicule online.

Thereafter, rumors emerged that the ‘King of Rio’ Jose Aldo was set to return for his career swansong. A golden opportunity for a solid legacy fight, the promotion instead booked him against the #14 ranked Jonathan Martinez. Although the choice of opponent had many scratching their heads, a chance to see Aldo retire in his hometown was an opportunity many were content with. Drug-testing controversies aside, the fight is at all systems go.
Rumored upcoming UFC fights
As mentioned previously, the UFC is no longer the leading authority when it comes to announcing their fights. Despite their focus being on the upcoming fight night cards, the groundwork for future PPV events has already started. Thus, with some solid work from journalists and a few blunders from fighters, we now have a list of fights that we can expect to see confirmed in the future.
Recently, flyweight Cody Durden announced that he would be returning against Carlos Hernandez. However, he decided to go a step further and reveal that it would be on the undercard of Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler on the June 29th PPV event. Whilst the fight had reportedly been given the go-ahead, the event and the date were yet to be disclosed by the promotion.

Since and before the news of McGregor’s return, we’ve also had reports of countless other fights that were in the works. Barring any injuries or contract bumps, fans can expect to see the following fights in the near future:
– Roman Dolidze vs Anthony Hernandez at UFC 302
-Alexander Volkov vs Jailton Almeida at UFC 302
– Edson Barboza vs Lerone Murphy ( May 18th)
– Alex Perez vs Tagir Ulanbekov ( June 15th)
– Arnold Allen vs Giga Chikadze (July 20th)
– Waldo Cortes-Acosta vs Robelis Despaigne ( May 11th)
-Michelle Waterson-Gomez vs Gillian Robertson at UFC 302
As always, it must be noted that these are the most prominent fighters’ rumored fights. Thus, many other fights are also in the works and have been revealed by numerous sources. Lastly, it must be remembered that the fights can be moved ahead or after their initial dates.
