CM Punk was a huge name in AEW, but he was recently terminated by the promotion because of a backstage altercation. Not only that, another top superstar on the AEW roster, Jade Cargill, recently parted ways with the Tony Khan-led promotion and joined WWE. While things were not going well for AEW, the company recently turned the tide by signing WWE Hall of Famer Edge.
Wrestling legend Edge recently made his debut in All Elite Wrestling. He debuted with the name ‘Adam Copeland’ on AEW’s latest PPV event, WrestleDream. While Copeland recently became a part of the Tony Khan-led promotion, it seems he wants to take up responsibilities pretty soon.
It has been reported that the former WWE Superstar wants to take up CM Punk’s duties in the company. Fightful Select has reported that after Copeland’s AEW debut, he is ready to help the promotion in every way possible. The report also states that Edge told another star that he would help the AEW Superstars backstage.

Thus, Copeland will try to fill the void created by Punk’s absence, since the former AEW star also helped roster members backstage. Meanwhile, after Punk left AEW, several speculations have been going on regarding his joining WWE. However, nothing has been confirmed as of now.
It will be really interesting to see if former superstar Edge will indeed take up Punk’s duties. Also, fans would be thrilled to see if CM Punk will now sign with the Stamford-based promotion to fill the void left by Adam Copeland, also known as the ‘Rated R Superstar’.
Edge aka Adam Copeland’s AEW debut
AEW recently suffered huge blows with the removal of two huge names from its roster. However, it seems the impact might not be massive since wrestling legend Adam Copeland recently stepped foot into the promotion.
The Rated R Superstar walked out during the main event of AEW WrestleDream. In the main event, Christian Cage defeated Darby Allin for the AEW TNT Championship. However, the fight continued as Cage and Nick Wayne destroyed Allin. Though Sting came out for the save, he was taken down by Luchasaurus. Right then, Copeland’s music played, and he came out.
Thereafter, he took down Wayne and Luchasaurus, while Cage retreated. After decimating the heels, Copeland shook hands with Sting and Allin. It was an amazing debut, and fans enjoyed every bit of it.
With that, Tony Khan, the President of AEW, announced that the newly signed superstar will be seen on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite and AEW Collision. He also mentioned that Copeland will be in action on October 10 against Luchasaurus.
Thus, it seems AEW has a lot of plans for the Rated R Superstar in the upcoming days. It will also remain to be seen if Copeland will take up Punk’s duties going ahead. Also, what awaits CM Punk going forward will be exciting for the fans to know.
