All Elite Wrestling has released its first ever official video game and it’s now all open for the fans. It was just moments after AEW Fight Forever reached the audience that many players noted a peculiar thing about the same.
Just like any other wrestling game, AEW Fight Forever allows the user to customize his wrestler and thus choose his move. It also presents to the users a choice to name their moves. However, one name didn’t go well with the wrestling community as the move is named after a life-threatening disease from Brock Lesnar’s glorious professional career.
How did AEW Fight Forever invite the ‘Diverticulitis’ controversy?
A Twitter user named SlappadaBRO_WWE gave a trail for Fight Forever and noticed that the iconic F5 move of Brock Lesnar was named ‘Diverticulitis.’ This upset many fans on the internet and they expressed their dissatisfaction with the step by the development team. Following are a few of those reactions:
AEW named the F-5 after an illness Brock Lesnar had in their video game.

That’s umm yeah, that’s pretty bad. pic.twitter.com/BNKlW43yjO
The F5 in AEW Fight Forever is called the “Diverticulitis”. Them making fun of Brock Lesnar off a disease that nearly killed him and is known to kill many others if gone untreated makes them dickheads. #AEWFightForever

You’re right. ‘Diverticulitis’ is not a nice name for the F5 in AEW Fight Forever as it was a difficult time for Brock Lesnar. You could call it ‘The Verdict’ as Brock did in Japan or the ‘Browser Refresh’ as @rspwfaq used to back in the day and is stuck in my head, well, forever

We went from “AEW bad/petty for calling a fireman’s carry face-buster after the disease Brock Lesnar had” to “ackshully it’s not about Brock Lesnar, it’s just offensive to the average person with diverticulitis” https://t.co/jU6BChX9Yf

Many people also defended the move as they clarified that the move was a dedication to Kevin Steen who used Deep Sea Diverticulitis as his iconic maneuver. However, the damage has now been done and it doesn’t seem that the Twitter world could keep calm in the latest future.
Brock Lesnar and his struggle with Diverticulitis
Brock Lesnar made himself known to the world with an excellent UFC career. He was at the peak of his career run when he was diagnosed with Diverticulitis, a disease of the intestine. The cause of the disease is unknown but doctors believe it is because of the pressure that had been building up in his intestines. This compelled Brock Lesnar to undergo a surgery.

In his autobiography – Death Clutch, Brock Lesnar wrote, “I was told I had a hole in my stomach. I was being poisoned from the inside with my own body waste. No wonder I felt like death. The Bismarck doctors knew who I was, and what I did for a living. That means they knew that cutting me open would end my career, and they did not want to do that if it could be avoided.” and it somehow became true.
Brock Lesnar had to quit UFC post the surgery. However, the Beast Incarnate was able to bounce back and make a WWE debut. Despite undergoing a serious treatment, his demand was reaching the masses. The two fighting giants – UFC and WWE tried to be the better hand for the Beast Incarnate. Eventually it was WWE who presented a better deal to the UFC star. With this, he made a great impact in the world of professional wrestling.
