Last week, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg agreed to engage in a cage battle with fellow billionaire, Elon Musk. The prospect of witnessing two really wealthy individuals lock horns has left internet users excited. However, it remained unclear to many whether both Musk and Zuckerberg were serious or having a laugh.
At one point, Musk’s mother called the fight off. But for now, it appears that her son has already started training for the potential showdown. The very first glimpses of the SpaceX CEO’s training have surfaced on the internet. Famed AI researcher and MIT scientist, Lex Fridman had the opportunity to engage in an impromptu session with Elon Musk. And it apparently lasted for “a few hours.”
After the training, the 39-year-old expressed great admiration for Elon Musk‘s impressive physical attributes, highlighting his power, strength, and skills both in stand-up combat and on the mats. Going by his words, the experience has left Lex in awe, who described it as an “epic” encounter.
I did an impromptu training session with @elonmusk for a few hours yesterday. I’m extremely impressed with his strength, power, and skill, on the feet and on the ground. It was epic. It’s really inspiring to see Elon and Mark doing martial arts, but I think the world is served… pic.twitter.com/cq00A9Xnmw

Aside from that, the popular podcaster is of the opinion that both the tech moguls shouldn’t in fact be fighting each other. Fridman believes that their contributions to the world would be better served if they solely focused on training in martial arts.
On his social media, Lex posted two candid shots of the duo training on the mat. The computer scientist wrote – “I did an impromptu training session with @elonmusk for a few hours yesterday. I’m extremely impressed with his strength, power, and skill, on the feet and on the ground. It was epic.”
Fridman continued, “It’s really inspiring to see Elon and Mark doing martial arts, but I think the world is served far better if they train martial arts but not fight in the cage. That said, as Elon says, the most entertaining outcome is the most likely… I’m there for them, no matter what.”
Lex Fridman has previously trained BJJ with Mark Zuckerberg
It is fascinating that Lex might perhaps be the only person who has now been able to assess the skills of both billionaires with greater accuracy. Fridman posted a highlight video of his BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) training session with Mark Zuckerberg earlier this week. Since being shared, the video has now garnered over 3 million views on Twitter.
Aside from training alongside both Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, Lex has also previously had the two on his show – Lex Fridman Podcast. Going by the training footage, it appears that Zuckerberg’s ground game is way slicker than what people would’ve anticipated. And why wouldn’t it? Earlier last month, the Meta CEO earned a gold and a silver medal in a BJJ tournament.
Here’s a highlight video of Mark Zuckerberg and I training jiu jitsu. I look forward to training with @elonmusk as well. It’s inspiring to see both Elon and Mark taking on the martial arts journey. See the full video here: https://t.co/G1ubUuxILK pic.twitter.com/WsLaRiFf1o

Sharing the above footage, Lex wrote – “Here’s a highlight video of Mark Zuckerberg and I training jiu jitsu. I look forward to training with @elonmusk as well. It’s inspiring to see both Elon and Mark taking on the martial arts journey.”
Fans can find the full video of their Jiu-jitsu training session on Fridman’s official YouTube channel. As for the highly anticipated potential fight, UFC president Dana White seems to be leaving no stone unturned to bring it to the Octagon. The odds currently seem to be in Mark’s favor due to his age, skills, and endurance. For Musk, his towering stature, and heavier weight are a plus.
