SUMMARY
- Jim Miller is set to fight against Bobby Green at UFC 300 on April 13, 2024.
- Miller has a request that can only be fulfilled by Bruce Buffer.
Jim Miller has booked his spot at the heavily anticipated UFC 300 later this year. A milestone event to say the least, Miller will be very proud of being able to fight on such a prestigious card. However, with the good news, there is also a bit of bad news.
Previously, ‘A-10‘ humbly asked for an opportunity to be a part of the UFC’s third centennial event. Soon after his win at UFC Vegas 84, it was announced that Miller would be getting his wish. At the same time, he also asked to be introduced as ‘Jim F*****g Miller’ on the night. As it turns out, only one of his wishes will seemingly be granted.

Speaking on the Schmozone podcast, legendary UFC announcer Bruce Buffer revealed that he would not be able to fulfill Jim’s wishes. “I don’t like cursing in my job. I respect Jim’s wishes. At this point, the answer is no. I’d go for a Jim Friggin Miller maybe”. Whilst Buffer has made his stance clear, he may be willing to reconsider or at the very least, come to an agreement of sorts with the fighter.
Jim Miller’s unique and legendary record at UFC 300
For the most part, UFC 300 hosts a lot of top talent within the promotion. With former champions, title challengers, or up-and-coming prospects. It is clear that the card has some of the best of the best. With that said, some may feel that Jim Miller is a little out of place for a card of such stature.
However, that couldn’t be further from the truth, as Miller holds the most unique record out of any fighter on the card. As it turns out, Jim stands to be the only fighter in UFC history to fight at UFC 100, UFC 200, and UFC 300. Not only that but should he win against Bobby Green, he will be the only fighter to win at all three centennial events.

In the past, Miller has beaten Mac Danzig at UFC 100 via unanimous decision. Then, at UFC 200, he unleashed a brutal ground and pound on Takanori Gomi. Now, he has the chance to set an untouchable record when he faces Bobby ‘King’ in the preliminary card of UFC 300.
How did Jim Miller get to be on UFC 300?
Ever since the mere mention of UFC 300, Jim Miller has thrown his name in the hat. Owing to his 15-year-long tenure in the company, occasions such as these were handmade for someone of his legendary status. With that said, many fans were demanding that the veteran be put on the card against another veteran fighter.
Thereafter, Miller fought Gabriel Benitez at UFC Vegas 84. On the night, the 40-year-old had a hard-fought battle but eventually emerged victorious with a rear-naked choke submission. In his post-fight interview, Miller said, “Well, UFC 300’s coming up. So, I got three months to heal up and stay in shape, and stay ready just find an opponent at this point”. Interestingly, Miller then hinted at Paul Felder as a potential opponent as well.
Whilst ‘The Irish Dragon‘ had retired in 2020, he was known to have re-entered the testing pool. Although it would have made for an epic fight, Miller will now play his trade against Bobby Green instead. All things considered, it will be a very watchable and legendary moment to witness either way.
