American television producer Eric Bischoff slammed CM Punk during his recent podcast, calling him out for his antics. Bischoff compared him to Hulk Hogan but claimed that Punk’s acts are worse than the ever-so-controversial Hogan’s.
During a discussion on his “Strictly Business” podcast about the Punk and AEW saga, Bischoff mentioned that while Punk and others tend to label Hogan as selfish he considers Punk to be “even worse” in that regard. “All these hardcore wrestling fans and Punk himself is so anti-Hogan because [they think] he’s selfish and whatnot. Punk’s worse!” Bischoff said.
Hulk Hogan was known for using his influence to get what he wanted in the wrestling industry. Bischoff criticized Punk for his actions at the AEW All 2022 press conference, unfavorably comparing him to Hogan.
The Hogan leg drop was absolutely fantastic.

Bischoff also referred to CM Punk as the “biggest financial flop in wrestling” and an “overrated star”. CM Punk seemed to poke fun at Hulk Hogan by performing Hogan’s signature move the Big Boot, along, with his taunt.
Eric reacted by sharing his thoughts on the matter: “CM Punk couldn’t carry Hulk Hogan’s boots in any shape or form is he technically capable of doing more in a ring sure does it fu*king matter absolutely not.”
He also claimed, that in the scheme of things, Punk won’t be remembered in wrestling history books. He was simply someone who happened to be, in the right place at the time and capitalized on a great opportunity.
“While his specific words didn’t necessarily bother me it’s a combination of his actions and statements that truly bother me. What CM Punk did to Tony Khan and the entire company, during that press conference is what stands out for me,” added Bischoff.
Who is CM Punk facing next at AEW All In?
AEW All-In is scheduled to take place on August 27, 2023, at Wembley Stadium, in London, England. This event is expected to attract the largest crowd in AEW history. Surprisingly, with less than a month remaining no matches have been officially booked yet.
Looking ahead to All In, there are opponents that CM Punk could face in a title defense at this historic event.
CM Punk vs Wardlow
One anticipated matchup would be CM Punk versus Wardlow. It seems inevitable that CM Punk and MJF will meet again in the ring this time contending for the world championship. Their previous rivalry garnered praise for years as each wrestler secured a victory.
Now that MJF holds the AEW World Champion title and Punk has declared himself the “real champ “ it only makes sense for them to have a rubber match at In to unify both belts. This clash would undoubtedly be a headline event, for a sold-out stadium show. The question remains; how will the higher-ups weave together existing storylines to lead us into this feud?
MJF vs Adam Cole vs CM Punk
The pairing of MJF and Adam Cole fell short in their attempt to dethrone FTR as the AEW World Tag Team Champions. Surprisingly, despite speculations, MJF didn’t turn on Cole after the match.
I hope this is the permanent MJF face turn. Babyface MJF vs. the divisive CM Punk is going to be a great dynamic later in the year. MJF has been pivotal in helping Adam Cole become more endearing with this babyface run he is on. It’s the most interesting thing in MJF’s career… pic.twitter.com/Lrldg6DDTS

However, with CM Punk in the picture, things could become explosive. Potentially lead to a thrilling three-way showdown. It remains to be seen if they can remain united or if betrayal will come into play with Punk catalyzing discord.
CM Punk vs Ricky Starks
Speaking of promising talents in the event scene AEW seems determined to position Ricky Starks as a figure alongside CM Punk, in Collision.
Not only did Starks defeat Punk to win the Owen Hart Cup Foundation Tournament, but he also emerged victorious once again in a tag team match held the following week. Both wins came through roll-up pins while utilizing the rope for leverage.

FTW champion Starks wasted no time confronting Punk when he unveiled his AEW World Championship belt. Starks believes he has Punk figured out. The upcoming “title” bout scheduled for Collision this week, with Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat as the referee, seems to mark the beginning of a rivalry rather than a one-time event.
