The WWE Universe has gone into a frenzy after CM Punk’s iconic comeback. The WWE superstars did not appear to be as thrilled to meet him as the fans were. The Judgement Day had been defeated by Team Cody Rhodes just before Punk made his shocking return to the company.
This allowed the players to witness Punk’s comeback up close. Their discontent was clearly seen in their eyes and actions. These Superstars didn’t seem to share the fans’ nearly universal assumption that CM Punk would make a comeback to WWE at the Survivor Series.
One of the most notable reactions from the night was from Seth Rollins. The World Heavyweight Champion was not happy to see The Best in the World returning to WWE. Rollins showed his anger and rage by showing Punk a middle finger and getting unstable throughout his return. Fans are ready to see both of them collide in an intense rivalry in the upcoming weeks.
Fans talked about how their feud might be a great one, stating, “This about to be a top feud for years to come” and “These next matches are about to hit”. Others talked about it being a potential WrestleMania match. “CM Punk taking that title at Mania,” and “WrestleMania 40 Night One Main Event,” said various users.
The crowd was surely hyped up to see CM Punk return to the biggest stage since his departure from the company in 2014. During this time, Rollins was a part of the Shield and had quite an on-screen rivalry with the Former WWE Champion. Over the years, Rollins has expressed real-life hate for the Superstar and shown him nothing but disrespect.

According to Sean Ross Sapp, Rollins was handled by Triple H as well as Michael Cole backstage after the onslaught. The Former AEW Superstar, however, was a bit confused seeing The Visionary angered upon his return. Seth Rollins has done a fantastic job developing the rivalry between them if it is a narrative. Supporters are certain that Seth Rollins is the man who should take on CM Punk.
The real reason why Seth Rollins doesn’t like CM Punk
The animosity between CM Punk and Seth Rollins began shortly after The Shield made their WWE debut. On the other hand, Punk and Rollins have a bittersweet rivalry. The two have collaborated both inside and outside of the ring, acting as allies and adversaries. Nonetheless, the pair performed poorly the majority of the time.

Following that, in 2023, he had an interview with Wrestling Inc., where Rollins successfully disparaged the former AEW star. “Phil, stay away. Stay away, you cancer. Get away from me forever,” Rollins said. “I don’t like Phil. He’s a j*rk,” he remarked about the prospect of his WWE comeback. But things are exactly how Seth Rollins would not have wanted them to be right now.
His issues with CM Punk are due to Punk’s selfishness and egoistic attitude. Rollins has had a fuzz with him since he left the WWE and later debuted at AEW, contradicting his statements regarding professional wrestling. By judging the reaction at Survivor Series their rivalry will surely have a pinch of real-life hatred between the two.
