Cody Rhodes surprised the wrestling world when he returned to the WWE last year after the expiration of his AEW contract. The American Nightmare who played an integral role in the formation of All Elite Wrestling didn’t think twice when WWE came calling.
The former Intercontinental Champion returned at WrestleMania 38 and faced Seth Rollins. The most surprising part was the entrance that he used for his return. Many fans expected Rhodes to return with his old WWE theme but he arrived with his AEW theme at WWE’s biggest show of the year.
Rhodes brought his theme song “Kingdom” by Downstait to the WWE and it became an instant hit. The song is tailor-made for his American Nightmare character as the lyrics of the song is about Rhodes’ career.
How many entrance themes did Cody Rhodes have during his first WWE run?
Rhodes during his run in the WWE had multiple character changes and theme songs. His first theme song was “Out to Kill ” which he used from 2007 to 2010. In 2011 Rhodes was given a new theme song named “Only One Can Judge.”
While playing the “Dashing” Cody Rhodes character, Rhodes was given another new theme song. The song “Smoke and Mirrors” is one of the most popular WWE songs of all time.
Cody then got a massive character change as he was repackaged as ‘Stardust,’ a character similar to his brother’s ‘Goldust’ character. Rhodes had a theme named “Written in the Stars” during the forgettable run.
Cody Rhodes’ major WWE achievements
Modern wrestling fans might not be aware of it but Cody Rhodes did have some success during his initial run with the WWE. Rhodes won the Intercontinental championship twice during his WWE career. He also won the WWE Tag Team Championships 3 times (once with Drew McIntyre and twice with Goldust.) He captured the World Tag Team Championships thrice (once with Hardcore Holly and Twice with Ted Dibiase Jr.)
