UFC fans hail Laura Sanko for a “sensational job” in PPV commentary debut
In the Zuffa era (starting in 2001) of the company, Sanko became the first female to do commentary during a PPV. Before Sanko, Kathy Long was part of the team at UFC 1 in 1993. Reports suggest that five years ago, Sanko communicated her interest to Dana White about becoming a color commentator in UFC. And, now, 30 years after Long, Sanko, a female, joins the commentary team at the PPV,
This should have created immense pressure for Sanko. Any mistakes could lead to the detriment of her own self along with many more aspiring women. However, Sanko has been spot-on till now as fans love her. One fan wrote, “Thus far, Laura Sanko is doing a sensational job in her pay-per-view commentary debut.”
