At long last, the long drawn-out saga of UFC 300 is about to come to an end. With there being tons of twists and turns in the tale, we finally have the pieces to the puzzle finally aligned. However, according to some, the promotion seemingly has a few more surprises under its sleeve.
For those unaware, UFC 300 marks the promotion’s third centennial numbered event. Over the course of its 30+ year run, Dana White and co. have put on some stellar events, that have left their mark in combat sports history. However, they are now looking to go one step further by breaking some of the biggest records that the company has ever set.
Previously, we saw the UFC President announce the final fights of the all-important card. Whilst some of the fights were not too well received in the beginning, the card has since grown on the fans and they cannot wait for April 13. Although the UFC initially had plans for a mega headliner, the reception for Alex Pereira vs Jamahal Hill has drastically improved over time as well.
UFC 300 is reportedly set to have a mid-event promo for UFC 303
With that said, there has been a lot of talk regarding what comes next after UFC 300. According to the fans, the promotion unnecessarily stacked UFC 299 headlined by Sean O’Malley last month. As a result, the 300 card was not as solid as it could have been, nor has UFC 301 fared well for it. Currently set to be headlined by Alexandre Pantoja and Steve Erceg, many consider the future to be quite bleak after the big event.
Previously, it was announced that Jose Aldo would be returning, for what is likely a farewell fight in front of his people in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. However, as many may recall, Aldo is not the only UFC superstar set to return to the Octagon this year. Previously, fans also received word that Conor McGregor was set to return to the UFC after a long layoff.

Whilst the return date and event were recently spoiled by Cody Durden, sources suggest that the UFC is also planning to drop a promo for UFC 303 during the UFC 300. As one fan wrote, the UFC intends to drop the promo just after Justin Gaethje vs. Max Holloway finishes, officially announcing Conor McGregor’s return at International Fight Week. Notably, the promo is set to have Ian Machado Garry vs. Colby Covington as well.
According to some, the promo is set to be like the one UFC dropped to announce Brock Lesnar’s return at UFC 200. At the same time, the Ian Garry-Colby Covington grudge match has been in the making for a while now. Thus, the winner stands a chance to finally get back in the good graces of the fans once again.
Max Holloway hints at something special for UFC 300 press conference
Naturally, considering that the source is not an incredibly reliable one, fans are not holding their breath on it. However, at the same time, there has been a lot of movement regarding UFC 303, which has come from Conor McGregor and Dana White as well. Thus, it is likely that the UFC is planning something on that front.
However, there is supposedly more to come from UFC 300 itself as hinted by Max Holloway in a recent video. Having wrapped up his training camp for the Gaethje fight, Holloway is now looking forward to all the ‘bells and whistles’ that come with fight week:

“I’m excited man, it’s gonna be huge, heard they (the UFC) got something special planned for the press conference, so I’m looking forward to fight week.”
In the past, we’ve seen a plethora of rumors of what the UFC will unveil at UFC 300. An event that will have the eyeballs of millions across the globe, it is likely that the UFC might make an announcement that could shock the world. Whilst the possibility of new weight classes was discussed, it has since become increasingly unlikely. Either way, whatever the UFC has in store for the fans, will be revealed in due time.
