The Monday Night War between WWE and WCW opened a new window of creativity for both companies. It gave fans a variety of products. It also took out the best of each company and displayed how well both companies could deliver. The war proved to be beneficial for both the companies and fans, as it got entertaining and unpredictable each week.
The same type of war seemingly started when AEW debuted back in 2019. They made a massive debut with their flagship show, AEW Dynamite, on Wednesdays. Through 2019, Dynamite and NXT collided every Wednesday, forming a new Wednesday Night War. As both brands expanded themselves throughout the years, NXT shifted its slot to Tuesday, giving both brands an equal amount of engagement.
Due to the MLB Playoffs, Dynamite will be heading to Tuesday next week and will be going head-to-head against WWE NXT. As soon as the news broke out, fans were seemingly interested in seeing the preparations, and to everyone’s hype, both companies are going all out for next week’s showdown.
With Shawn Michaels handling the developmental brand, NXT has seen a lot of main roster starpower in recent months, which has given them a huge boost in the ratings. Over recent weeks, Dominik Mysterio, Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, and other main roster performers have shown up on the developmental brand to attract more audiences. As for next week, WWE has called on huge star power to assert their position.
NXT will be showering the likes of John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Paul Heyman, Dominik, Asuka, and Becky Lynch next week. Cena and Heyman would be acting as managers for Carmelo Hayes and Bron Breakker respectively, in their epic rematch. It was also revealed that Asuka will be facing Roxanne Perez on the same show to hype up the audience even more.

WWE didn’t seem to stop, as Cody Rhodes will be making a huge announcement the same night. With Dominik regaining his North American Title this week, Judgement Day will surely be a part of the show. There is no denying that WWE can reach any level to destroy its competitors.
Despite going head-to-head against Dynamite before, the arrival of Adam Copeland has surely forced WWE to make such announcements. Apart from the presence of the Rated R Superstar, Dynamite will also feature several title matches. Fans have called out WWE for their desperation move to beat AEW and put in all the star power in one show.
“Desperate as f*ck,” “It’s honestly pathetic how scared they are,” and “Haha that’s hilarious,” were some of the remarks made by fans over this move. As the AEW fans trolled WWE after they brought a lot of Superstars to NXT, it is to be seen how the match turned out and whether it will defeat AEW on Wednesday Night Wars.
AEW defeated NXT in the Wednesday Night Wars last time
This isn’t the first time NXT will be going head-to-head with Dynamite for ratings supremacy. Previously, Dynamite and NXT went against each other for almost two years. With both companies putting their best on display each week, it was surely a war.
The final Wednesday Night War ratings for 4/7:
AEW: 688,000
NXT: 768,000That’s a wrap. NXT gets one last victory over AEW before the war comes to a close. That gives NXT a whopping 10 victories out of 78 weeks. AEW runs away with 65 wins and two ties.

The war proved to be beneficial for AEW, as they won 65 head-to-head TV tapings compared to NXT’s 10 wins. AEW certainly had a fresh start and was dominant most of the time. Once again, the stage is set for another huge Wednesday Night War, which is going to be one for the ages.
