UFC 285 will always be remembered as the event where Jon Jones made his heavyweight debut. However, throughout the week, it was Conor McGregor who dominated the conversations!

So fans will definitely wonder why Conor McGregor is in the headlines during a Jon Jones fight week. It all comes down to the upcoming remake of the classic 80s movie “Road House.” According to reports, Conor will have a major role in the movie. It is also going to be his Hollywood debut.

Although the plot details are kept under wrap, it can be assumed that Conor’s co-star, Jake Gyllenhaal is playing the role of a UFC fighter. Before the UFC 285 main card went live, Jake shot a scene for the upcoming movie which saw apparently saw him beat the fictional UFC middleweight champion of the world. Although it was completely choreographed, Gyllenhall looked extremely sharp in the cage.

The fighter in the scene was Jay Hieron, who has fought in the UFC previously. So he definitely had a huge part in making the scene believable. In another leaked video, fans can see veteran announcer Jon Anik, former UFC double champ and Hall of Famer, Daniel Cormier, and presenter Megan Olivi in the commentary booth. However, one notable absence was Joe Rogan, who does not seem to be a part of the movie.

They also filmed a weigh-in scene ahead of the ceremonial weigh-ins for UFC 285. From UFC President Dana White to top executive Hunter Campbell, both appeared in the scene where Jake and Jay Hieron’s characters had a heated stare-down. At one point, it looked like Jake’s character even slapped his opponent. McGregor was also there for the scene inside the MGM Grand.

When does the “Road House” remake starring Conor McGregor and Jake Gyllenhaal release?

The announcement for the movie came in mid-2022 and the shooting started shortly afterward. As per IndieWire, the first schedule of the shooting took place in the Dominican Republic where both Conor McGregor and Jake Gyllenhaal shot for a number of weeks. However, it looks like the movie required some fight scenes and needed a packed arena. So what other event would provide such an amazing environment other than UFC 285?

As for the release date of the movie, it is yet unknown when the movie is coming out. The film is going to be distributed by Amazon Studio and is directed by Doug Liman. Other than “The Notorious One” and Jake Gyllenhaal, Daniela Melchior of “The Suicide Squad” fame is also set to star in the movie.
