CM Punk recently surprised everyone by returning to WWE after he departed from AEW. However, now it seems another former WWE superstar also wants to quit the Tony Khan-led promotion. It’s none other than Ric Flair.
Ric Flair recently took his social media handles to make an emotional post. He began by stating that he was tired of all the negativity he had been hearing. With that, the WWE Hall of Famer put forward a question to his fans and asked, “Can’t I Simply Enjoy Being By My Dear Friend @stinger’s Side For The Next Few Months Without So Much Hatred?”
Expressing his feelings Flair also stated that he knows that he has grown old but that doesn’t mean he cannot enjoy life anymore. However, toward the end of the post, he mentioned Tony Khan and wrote “I Appreciate Everything @tonyrkhan, But I’m More Than Willing To Walk Away If I Am Embarrassing You And Your Company. All I Can Say Is I’m Sorry!”

This post of Ric Flair immediately caught the attention of fans. They gathered in the comments section of the post to provide support to their favorite superstar. However, it seems not only fans but several WWE superstars and legends also showered love to Flair.
Commenting on Flair’s post Stone Cold Steve Austin wrote, “Ric, I enjoy watching you do all the things you do. And you’re always having fun. Keep doing you. And that’s the bottom line.”. On the other hand, Chris Jericho commented “Don’t listen to online as*holes champ. You’re fu*kin Ric Flair. Do what you want. Fu*k em…”
Thus, it seems Ric Flair has been receiving love from all across the world after his emotional post. With that, now it remains to be seen if Flair will indeed walk away from the Tony Khan-led promotion in the upcoming days. Also, fans will look forward to comments from the AEW CEO on the matter.
Why did Ric Flair join AEW?
Ric Flair made his AEW debut on the October 25, 2023, episode of AEW Dynamite. He was thereafter featured in a segment with Tony Schiavone and Sting. The AEW debut of Flair surprised many fans who wanted to know the reason behind the WWE legend joining the Tony Khan-led promotion.
It is to be noted that previously, Sting announced his retirement from pro wrestling. With that, rumors were going on that Tony Khan would give a special gift to Sting for his retirement. Henceforth, Ric Flair appeared as Tony Khan’s special gift to Sting. It was also reported that Flair wanted to stay by his friend Sting’s side until his retirement.
Thus, it can be understood that Ric Flair joined AEW to spend time with his dear friend. However, as of now he no longer wants to be a part of the Tony Khan-led promotion anymore. It now remains to be seen what decision the two-time WWE Hall of Famer will take going forward. Meanwhile, fans have been pouring love towards their favorite Superstar and would love to see him inside the ring once again.
