Ben Simmons always has something going on for him be it off or on the court. But this does not always mean that things are going well for him in any way. The Brooklyn Nets’ point guard has barely played basketball over the last year. For the most part, his performances have been very underwhelming and sometimes without contributions to the scoreboard.
There are a million reasons why he claimed he simply cannot perform. Putting aside anything injury-related, Ben Simmons held personal grudges, had disagreements with his coaching staff, or simply hated playing in front of a crowd that mocked him. After joining the Nets, many believed the worst was over, but the former Rookie of the Year has barely shown out this season.
So far, Ben Simmons has been averaging only 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game this season. This statline could be embarrassing for someone who was formerly an All-Star and a Defensive Player of the Year candidate. It could be hard for teams to acquire someone with low productivity like him. The Nets could possibly use him as a trade asset if he does not improve by the end of the season.
Ben Simmons hints at a potential NBA departure by deleting all social media posts
With how things are going in Brooklyn, Ben Simmons may feel like he is in an unsafe environment. Recently, the former No.1 overall draft pick deleted all of his Instagram posts. This could mean many things but fans are speculating that it may be a sign that he is done with the NBA entirely. One fan said, “Dude is packing his bags to go to the shanghai sharks.” Here is what fans had to say.

The Nets started off extremely shady this season following the Kyrie Irving incident. And of course, the firing of head coach Steve Nash. Despite the chaos, they still managed to maintain a good record and got themselves a 10+ game win streak. They quickly rose among the top three in the Eastern Conference before its collapse.
Earlier this month, both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving were traded from the roster. KD was acquired by the Phoenix Suns who immediately became title favorites when he joined. The Dallas Mavericks took a chance by getting Kai onto their roster alongside Luka Doncic. This could also contribute to Simmons saying his last goodbye.
