British tennis sensation Emma Raducanu is raring to make a comeback to the sport. Raducanu has been on the sidelines for the majority of the year, owing to surgeries on both wrists and an ankle as well. However, she recently gave the biggest hint about her imminent return to the sport this year itself.
Injuries have plagued Emma for the most part of her budding career. She finally opted for surgery to resolve them once and for all. This decision meant she had to sit out the French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open. Emma has been recovering well and back in August she had even shared her progress with her fans on social media.
Raducanu has been training at the LTA’s National Tennis Centre and has upped the intensity of her practice. The former US Open champion took to Instagram to share an update once again. She shared photos of herself from her previous matches, and uploaded them with the caption, “Got the bug to go, miss this.”

In a recent interview, Emma opened up about missing out on the action, as she was focused on her recovery. “This season all the slams were finished so it was difficult to watch them go by but I was trying to stay in my lane as much as possible and keep focused on my recovery. Next season I’ll be back,” she said (via Tennis365).
Emma Raducanu played only 10 matches this year and will return to play in China in December. There were rumors that Raducanu might play at the Billie Jean King Cup, but she was not named in the team. The 20-year-old still has a lot to look forward to, and a lot to offer to tennis.
Leylah Fernandez has positive words for Emma Raducanu
The young Briton announced her arrival on the scene when she won the US Open in 2021. It was a remarkable feat, as Emma was the first British woman to do so since Virginia Wade in 1977.
Fernandez and Raducanu had locked horns in the summit clash, with Emma walking away with the trophy. However, neither player has managed to find such success again, although both are very talented players.
Leylah, however, just won her second title in Hong Kong and praised Raducanu. She added that Emma is a special player, and has something to offer to women’s tennis. “Hopefully, we do see her because she is great for the sport. She has got something special for the WTA and for women’s tennis,” she said.
Emma Raducanu has been missing from action for months now. However, if her recovery aligns with her plans, she will be seen at the MGM Macau Tennis Masters later this year.
