David Michael Bautista is an American professional wrestler turned actor who is most famous for his time in WWE. He competed in the Stamford-based promotion under the ring name Dave Batista and was one of the most famous superstars of his time.

The former 6-time World Champion has headlined many pay-per-views throughout his career. The 54-year-old superstar made his WWE debut on May 9, 2002. Since then, he has wrestled in the Triple-H-led promotion for 8 years before his first departure from the promotion.
Dave left WWE in 2010, but in 2014 he returned to the Royal Rumble and started his second run at the company. He rejoined ‘Evolution’ and had feuds with ‘The Shield’ and Daniel Bryan. He was not granted the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match by Triple-H as he was promised, which led to his departure from the promotion again after a few months.

Bautista was not happy with his second run in WWE; he termed it “horrible” in Lilian Gracia’s podcast. He said, “It was horrible. I tried not to take it personally but I really did and it hurt because it’s hard to tell people that you want to be there for the right reasons, but they don’t want to hear it.” He was hurt by the way he went out.
He further explained that it was tough for him to leave WWE at the point where he started having a connection with the audience. But he had to leave due to his commitment to promoting his movie, “Guardians of the Galaxy”. It is unclear if Bautista will make a comeback or at least a one-time appearance at the Royal Rumble 2024, and fans are still hoping for it.
