Before that incident, the well-known Cuban professional boxer Yordenis Ugas Hernández had added a tweet for people suffering from alopecia. Yordenis Ugas suffers from the same condition of alopecia as Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
Just two weeks before the incident, Ugas had shown support to all the people suffering from alopecia through his tweet. He said, “My thoughts and prayers to everyone who is battling a condition, illness, and especially alopecia“.
He further added that people suffering from this condition should not be affected by people’s comments. Because strength comes from within, not from appearance.

After the famous incident, Ugas added to his previous tweet. He stated that the tweet was for Jada as well. He said, “This message was also for Will Smith’s wife even though she doesn’t know her. I am here to motivate you and help you build a high and strong self-esteem”.

Furthermore, he also mentioned in the tweet how he was made fun of all his life because of his alopecia condition. He also added that he has never succumbed to pressure and never let himself feel that he is less than other people.
He did not comply with what Will Smith had done. Instead, made this tweet to encourage and motivate Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. He also wanted her to build strong self-esteem so that she would never be affected in her life by any comments directed at her.
Yordenis Ugas gets sent to the hospital two times in a row
Yordenis Ugas has had a bad history in recent years with his eye. He was rushed to the hospital in 2022, following his fight with Errol Spence Jr. The Cuban was left with one eye closed as he suffered a lot of damage during the fight. During the tenth round, the doctors examined him, and the fight had to be stopped then and there because the damage to his eye was too severe.
Recently, Ugas tweeted to share the story of how he has overcome every obstacle he has had in his life. He said, “As fate would have it, my right eye has been like this in my last two fights. But I have never given up, I have never sat in the corner, the image has always been… me begging the doctor to let me continue”.

He also added, “I will always share my story, so those who love me will be motivated, and those who hate me will also be motivated, not so that you feel sorry for me, I don’t need you to feel sorry for me”.
Through his story, he wanted to let people around the world know how he has had so many problems in his life. He has a problem with his eyes and is also suffering from alopecia. But he has never given up, and that is what matters.
Additionally, Yordenis Ugas said that the most important thing for him is the respect of his Cuban community. It is something that nothing in the world can buy. Ugas is one of the greatest boxers the world has ever seen, and even after going through many hardships in life, he has embraced them and not lost them.
