The recent big PPV UFC 288 proved to be a good one for Aljamain Sterling. The fighter was able to defend his Bantamweight title for the third time successfully against Henry Cejudo. Although the event had a lot of other thrilling highlights like Yan Xiaonan’s vicious knockout, Sterling vs Cejudo was the center of them all.
The ‘Funk master’ took to his Twitter handle to clear out the confusion regarding the PPV buys. He stated “I was told yesterday that we’d be lucky to break 250k PPV buys and you’re going on air to lie that you know for certain we made 700,000 buys?! Are you on the bottle this afternoon bro?? Stop the CAP”

Aljamain Sterling made this comment as a response to Eric Albarracin’s claims on PPV buys in a recent interview. Eric Albarracin is the coach of ‘Triple C’ as well as a retired American wrestler. He was featured in the MMA Hour hosted by Ariel Helwani. There he made a few claims which Sterling quickly shattered.
Albarracin claimed that Cejudo made a sale of about 700,000 PPVs at this event. He also mentioned that Cejudo has never crossed a PPV rate of 200,000 before his retirement. Which, from his side, means that Cejudo rose to popularity during his retirement.
Aljamain Sterling claps back at Henry Cejudo’s coach for false claims
Not letting things as they are, Albarracin also took to his Twitter handle to share a picture of a report of estimated PPV buys during UFC 288. It was discovered that the report was an unsubstantiated one which led to Albarracin getting more embarrassed. The report claimed that almost 700,000 PPVs were sold in UFC 288, but the report in itself was not reliable.

Aljamain Sterling responded to this as well asking him to stop the nonsense through his tweet (with a facepalm).
Broooo 🤦🏾♂️ stop with this nonsense. You’re smarter than this.

Henry Cejudo has been a very popular and successful fighter throughout his career. With an estimated net worth of about $2 Million, he sure is someone who has seen his better days. After he suddenly announced his retirement after gaining victory against Dominick Cruz in 2020, everyone was shocked.
But when Cejudo announced he will be returning to professional fighting through UFC, it lead to an immediate increase of interest from his fan following. Before the fight, Cejudo took to his social media a lot which resulted in creating a lot of hype around the fight.
But instead of retiring again as his fans had speculated he might do, Henry decided to call out Merab Dvalisvili through his Twitter handle. He asked Dana White to arrange a bout between the two. Will UFC do so? Let us know in the comments down below.
