Tony Ferguson will step inside the cage this weekend against Bobby Green on the main card of UFC 291 featuring Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje for the symbolic BMF title in the main event inside Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The former interim lightweight champion will step inside the Octagon for the first time since the submission loss against Nate Diaz back in September at UFC 279. Ferguson will enter the cage on the back of a five-fight losing streak, with his last win in the UFC coming against Donald Cerrone back in June 2019.

The last time Ferguson won a fight was four years ago, and with age doing him no favors, UFC fans believe it’s the right time for El Cucuy to hang up his gloves.
UFC fans parade for Tony Ferguson to retire at UFC 291
Tony Ferguson has been a UFC fan favorite for as long as one can remember. Despite the recent row of losses, El Cucuy has managed to bring in excitement among fans and continues to be a top draw in the UFC. However, with his peak years behind him, fight fans’ expectations have only decreased over the years.
The former interim lightweight champion continues to pit himself against the absolute best in the division. The five losses that haunt his UFC resume have all come against top contenders like Justin Gaethje, Charles Oliveira, Beneil Dariush, Michael Chandler, and Nate Diaz.

He will take on Bobby Green this weekend, who has looked incredible in his last few fights. The UFC veteran is also on a two-fight losing skid, with his last fight against Jared Gordon turning out to be a no-contest.
While fans are hoping for El Cucuy to get his hands raised, it will be easier said than done. Needless to say, in a scenario where Ferguson once again has to taste defeat, fans are of the opinion, it should leave no question unanswered, that the former interim lightweight champion needs to hang up his gloves once and for all.
