Kamaru Usman doesn’t think Ian Garry can beat Geoff Neal at UFC 298. The former welterweight contender gave his prediction for UFC 298 in a recent video on his YouTubel channel, and Ian Garry’s fans are not going to like it. Well, that is if he has any.
Rising welterweight prospect Ian Garry has been under a lot of headlines. Be it the controversy surrounding his ouster from the Renegade gym or the back and forth with UFC fighters over his relationship and decision to keep “Machado” as his middle name. However, none of the criticism around his antics outside the Octagon has brought out any negative comments on his fighting skills.

Ian Garry is patient, calculated, and an exciting striker who always brings his A-game whenever he steps inside the Octagon. Going against a formidable opponent Geoff Neal, it will be interesting to see how the Irish fighter adapts to Neal’s aggressive approach and powerful striking. According to Kamaru Usman, Geoff Neal beats Ian Garry and gets the job done at UFC 298.

The former welterweight Champion thinks patience will be the key for Geoff Neal to win against Ian Garry.
The Irishman relies heavily on counterpunching and isn’t always necessarily looking to finish the fight. In a lot of ways, he reminds several fans of Israel Adesanya.
“Geoff Neal at #8, Ian Garry at #10. This is an intriguing fight. I do like after watching the press conference, I do like the approach Geoff Neal is bringing to the fight. I think he stays calm and goes out there, does what he does, I think Geoff Neal can get this win.”
“Ian is battling a lot of things. I know he is trying to silence the noise. I do think a calm Geoff Neal goes out there and shows his best form. So, I’m going to go with Geoff Neal on that one.” Kamaru Usman said on Neal vs Garry.
Looking at Geoff Neal’s last two fights against Shavkat Rakhmanov and Vince Luque, he is not someone Ian Garry will be taking lightly. If he can mix it up and not look to fight on the scorecards with Garry, there’s a massive chance that the American fighter could get his hands raised this weekend.
