Since joining The Judgement Day, Dominik Mysterio has arguably been enjoying the best days of his WWE career. Dirty Dominik is currently involved in a romantic on-screen angle with “The Eradicator” Rhea Ripley and is also the reigning NXT North American Champion.
Dominik‘s North American title win was his first singles title win in the company, however, recent reports have suggested that Dominik Mysterio’s championship run could be in jeopardy following WWE’s upcoming PLE (Premium Live Events), WWE Summerslam.
As per reports, the danger to Dominik’s North American title can be from former AEW performer Brian Pillman Jr. There have been speculations about Brian’s WWE debut for quite some time, and it seems he can make his rumored debut following WWE SummerSlam.
If WWE decides to have Brian debut in the company’s development territory, NXT, there would be no better feud for him than to target Dominik’s North American title. If WWE goes on with this plan, Dominik Mysterio’s championship run will surely be in jeopardy following WWE SummerSlam.
All these speculations regarding Brian Pillman Jr.’s WWE debut started after, the 29-year-old was seen at WWE’s Orlando Performance Centre on July 13. It has been reported that WWE was interested in signing Brian as soon as his AEW contract expired; thus, it seems just a matter of time before WWE signs the performer officially. Rhea Ripley helped Dominik Mysterio retain his title at the WWE NXT Great American Bash
Whether Dominik Mysterio’s title run ends following SummerSlam 2023 or not is a thing of the future. But, since winning the NXT North American Championship on NXT’s July 18 episode, Dominik has been successful in defending his title.
Dominik’s recent title defense was against Wes Lee and Mustafa Ali in a great triple-threat match at July 30’s WWE NXT Great American Bash was also a successful one, thanks to Ripley. The Eradicator was continuously involved in the match from the ringside and helped Dominik retain his title.
During the final moments of the match, Rhea Ripley pulled Mustafa Ali out of the ring as he was about to secure a win. Not only this, but Ripley even put Wes Lee through a table. Rhea’s actions created a lot of heat among the fans, as they believe Rhea’s interference was the reason Dominik retained his title.
Whatever tactics Rhea Ripley may have used to help Dominik retain his title at WWE NXT Great American Bash, she was successful in her objective. Looking at the way Rhea supports her on-screen partner during his matches, it seems anyone challenging Dominik Mysterio for his title should have some backup to tackle Dominik’s “Mami,” Rhea Ripley.
