Ja Morant is currently suspended from NBA action. The Memphis Grizzlies franchise mentioned that the point guard will be on the sidelines for at least two games. This comes after he allegedly flashed a gun during an Instagram live. The timeline of these events reflects quite poorly on Ja’s character, to say the least.

Recently, The Washington Post reported that Morant attacked a 17-year-old boy with a gun. This sent the NBA world into a frenzy as many were trying to figure out if Ja was going to be arrested or charged for these allegations. However, it looks like what he did right after led Ja to face the consequences.
Did Ja Morant carry a gun on the plane to Denver?
There have been rumors to emerge recently about Morant. A user on Reddit mentioned that Ja had the gun in Denver, meaning he could have possibly brought it on the team plane that departed from Tennessee. This will be a drastic turn if the investigation reveals it to be true. Ja’s NBA career could well and truly be at stake and it will be a huge blow for the Grizzlies as well.

According to Marc Stein, the NBA is trying to ascertain when Ja had the firearm. He said on #thisleague UNCUT, “The CBA says if there is a firearm on team premises [team plane], that’s an automatic 50-game suspension. That’s why the league is trying to ascertain where was the gun before the Instagram video.”
If it turns out that Ja brought the gun on the plane to Denver, it would undoubtedly affect his NBA career. Adam Silver has not commented on the controversy as of now but reports mentioned that the NBA were investigating the matter recently.
This means the 23-year-old will miss the rest of this regular season, and possibly the next as well, depending on whether the Grizzlies make the playoffs this year. The Memphis-based franchise was one of the favorites to do so, but are currently dealing with Ja’s absence, along with Brandon Clarke as well. The player suffered a torn Achilles and will miss the rest of the season.
Ja’s father, Tee Morant, claimed in a statement that his son was under the spotlight and his actions were magnified. This received plenty of backlash as fans blamed Tee for Ja’s actions. Whatever the case, the ongoing investigation will disclose what will happen to Ja Morant.
